Dirty tricks in Vegas? Strange phone call this AM.
Edited on Sat Feb-14-04 06:01 PM by stopbush
My wife got an automated phone call at about 11AM today, supposedly from the Kucinich campaign. The call said to "remember to vote TOMORROW for Dennis Kucinich."

What's wrong with that picture? Well, the caucuses are TODAY, not tomorrow. Not only that, but they started at 10AM, so an 11AM call wouldn't do much good. I could see a live person calling to say "get your ass down to the caucus site NOW to vote for DK before it's too late," but that's not what the call said.

Anybody else receive a call like this today? It can only be one of two things 1) the Kucinich campaign screwed up, or 2) another campaign is trying to depress the turnout of DK supporters by telling them the wrong date for the caucuses.

1. It's impossible to tell which of the two it was.
But it doesn't sound very good either way.

3. hrmm...
do you really think Kucinich is perceived as that much of a threat to any other candidate that they would do this?

5. That's hardly the point.
I was wondering if supporters of other candidates had received similar calls. Would you shrug it off if the call had said "vote for Edwards tomorrow?"

It could have well been a screw up by the DK campaign. Lord knows he's got plenty of cash sitting around to screw up in such a manner.

7. It isn't one
had it been they wouldn't have waited until after the caucus to call you.
