You get what you pay for.
CEOs recognize that the Republicans are finished for the time being, so they are flocking to Clinton II and Obama. Clinton Favorite of CEOs

What do they have against Edwards? Could it be this? John Edwards believes a new labor movement is the answer to the country's great divide. Should corporate America be afraid of him?

2. I suspect that more generally it's
Edward's seemingly firm commitment to the interests of the middle-class and the poor that upsets our betters.

4. As long as we grant corporations a say in our government,
they will outbid us citizens. We should never forget that corporations exist because we allow them to through legal structures that we have invented to help us humans meet our needs. If, as seems to be the case, our inventions turn against us, we must destroy them.

5. I think corporate America
would embrace John Edwards with fervent enthusiasm if Kucinich rose in the polls.

They're obviously going to go with the candidates they think are easiest to buy. They might not be as enthusiastic about Edwards as they are about Clinton and Obama, but they'll take him over someone they can't buy any day.
