This is Washington D.C.'s second presidential contest this year. It held a non-binding primary January 13, won by Howard Dean. Al Sharpton placed second. The caucus begins at 10 a.m. ET and ends at 4 p.m. Sixteen delegates are at stake.

The Nevada caucuses start at 10 a.m. (12 p.m. ET), and close at 4 p.m. (6 p.m. ET). In Nevada, 24 delegates are at stake.

3. NV is non-binding according to this article:

One reason is that Nevada Democrats will have only 32 votes of the 2,162 needed to nominate a presidential candidate at the party's national convention in July.

Another reason is that the caucuses are conducting what amounts to a nonbinding straw poll in which no delegates will be committed to particular candidates. Most of Nevada's delegates won't be committed to a candidate until the state Democratic convention in April.

4. There's something wrong here.

Nevada is on Pacific time. There should be 3 hours difference, not 2.

5. I just came home from the Nevada caucus for a while...

I'm going back, but they are HOURS behind here in Clark County (Las Vegas) because the turnout is MASSIVE. There were so many people the fire marshall closed the gymnasium, and moved everyone out to the football field. Unbelievable! And wonderfule! Bush is going down!

7. Great news. Nevada can no longer be called a conservative state

in my opinion. It's now a clear swingstate, right in the center.

It's population has boomed in large part because of the democratic mayor of Vegas who has done such a great job and will make a great governor or senator someday

6. Hopefully NV can hadle it's turnout better than Maine did

I kind of wonder if the "age of the caucus" has passed. It seems like a very noble exercise in democracy, but there are just too many people and rarely do state party's have the resources to do them properly (or at least they are easily overwhelmed by higher than expected turnout).

Although on the other hand, I think Washington state scrapped a primary in favor of a caucus because the caucus was cheaper.

It's been two and a half hours since D.C. ended and they still have 0% reporting.
