Poll question: Dennis Kucinich - Hot or Not?
Okay people, I keep hearing everyone say DK is not "attractive." I happen to think he's probably the MOST attractive of the candidates.

Of course, I am mostly attracted to a person's MIND - and I find his mind over the top sexy. He's awesome.

But even then - I think he's a very good looking man, and has no problem in the physical realm whatsoever.

What do YOU think?

11. I wouldn't say "hot" as in
"makes me think 'I'm melting! I'm melting!'" :-)

BUT he does have a certain appealing sweetness about him. And he is very, very smart and well-informed.

But that appealing sweetness, honesty, conviction, integrity, intelligence, etc is what I think helps make him Hot! If he didn't have that going for him - he'd be just another dude to me, no matter what he looked like!

But - you gotta admit, this thread is infinitely more fun than "Where'd Kerry hide his wanker" threads... :)

Very interesting results too!

15. Totally
HOT!! Women don't necessarily like the he-man types. They usually are obviously too focused on themselves to be considerate of anyone around them.

How can anyone look at this and not melt into that smile:

20. Exactly!
I went HOT! too, purely because when he smiles, I absolutely DO melt!

Maybe it's because I really look at people's eyes and notice when who they are and what they feel isn't reflected there. With Dennis it's as plain as day when you look at his eyes.

26. Dennis is an attractive man
a little too thin for my tastes but, that does not detract from his overall attractiveness.

DK has Intellect and Heart; when he smiles or looks you in the eye, you can just feel the warmth and light radiating from him.

31. Hot.
Once you know a person, it is the person they are that colors their outside for me, anyway. I've known plenty of people considered "hot" that I found to be repulsive. And plenty of people that would be considered less than "hot" that were attractive.

As for me, the physical characteristics that first attract my attention to a man are eyes, smile, and hands. Windows to the man himself. Dennis is easily "hot" under my criteria!

32. When Looks out way Issues ...
it says a lot about our citizens who vote. I didn't bother to cast my vote in this poll after thinking about another election in 1976.
If looks are what matters to America, they should vote for George W. Bush, and get what their shallowness deserves.

33. Either my glasses are messed up or there's something wrong
with this board.

First, you say Judy Dean is pretty and now Dennis Kucinich is hot? I love DK's politics (and I'm a non-gay male), but come on, guys.

36. Huh? (was this to me?)
I've never once mentioned Judy Dean, in my online or my real life.

And DK is hot - Lwolf said it best. Hot isn't ONLY about looks, and sometimes it's not about looks at all.

Dennis is certainly not unattractive - but it's not just what he looks like, it's his entire persona.

His persona is appealing, but his looks aren't (and neither is his accent for that matter).

40. From Miami, FLA.
He has a blatant MidWestern excent. You know the accent that the British think all Americans have. Like how Kucinich sounds nasally when he says words with o's in them "It's wrawng to stay in Iraq."

45. Like Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, etc.
I believe they call it "Midwest Standard" in the jargon sense. That's why there are so many TV newscasters from the upper midwest-- we have an accent that's easy for people from all parts of the country (and the world) to understand (although, to be fair, Rather is from Texas, and does let his drawl come out occassionally. And IMHO Brokaw always sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth).

...and I believe it is pronounced "wrahng", unless you're from the mid-atlantic states, where it becomes "wrouwoangh"

:D

42. Mmm. Judy Dean is a bit on the
plain side, imo, but she appears to have a personality that outshines that.

Same applies to Kucinich, and BTW, I LOVE his accent! I could listen to him for hours and stare at him as long as he smiles. Then again I'm from the midwest myself so the accent is comforting to me in its familiarity.

39. I saw him in New Hampshire and...
he looked like an Undertaker (my wife and I both came to the same conclusion).

It would be nice to imagine a perfect world where everyone holds an open mind about all candidates for office, and thoroughly evaluates their positions, but its not and they don't.

Dean was an "outsider" candidate who was able to create a buzz in the campaign, and use that to build strength. Kucinich is an outside candidate who can't.

44. Dean an outsider?
Oh please. He's the epitome of insider. He's a moderate centrist who governed for 10+ years in Vermont with the full blessing of the corporate elite (IBM, Koch, etc.). He may not be a "Washington Insider", but he was also the head of the Democratic Governor's association during the 2002 elections-- hardly an "outsider" position.

Dean's "buzz" was largely created by the "insider" media who featured him on the covers of Newsweek and Time when he was polling in the single digits. Interestingly enough, top executives of Time/Warner rank as prominent Dean contributors as well. Coincidence?

Kucinich, OTOH, has been systematically IGNORED by the major news media, and even marginalized by a good portion of the alleged "liberal"-leaning media as well. Still, he's raised a decent amount of money, and has grassroots operations across the country.

The media ignores Dennis Kucinich (even after two 3rd place finishes in WA and ME) because they are AFRAID of what he represents: REAL change in the status quo, not just a change of the leadership.
