So What!
I don't really care if there is a story about JK and the AP reporter. I always felt the Gary Hart should have just said, "Screw you, it is a matter between my wife and I!" No denial, no nothing, settles the issue. "FO". Same with Clinton and the Monica thing, he should have said "It's none of our business!" But he didn't, he fell into to the trap and he got caught, cruxified actually. So I say, as a Democrat, I don't care, I'm through with this attack. The GOP can make it seem as though philandering is a Democrat disease all they want, I'm not buying it. It happens on both sides of the fence. We just don't make an effort to catch them, maybe we should.

BTW I don't think Kerry did roam on his wife, why would he, there's steak at home why go out for hamburger.
But again I'm not going to let the GOP frame this debate in any way, shape or form. They can FO and so can all the Democrats who want to make this an issue.

1. Yep - I would rather face the rath of G-D than Teresa
if her man cheated on her. And, she would be the first to know. What a lady!

2. Agreed
I could give the lesser of two shits where John Kerry puts or doesn't put his willy. It's of no matter to me, you, the press or anyone else except the parties involved. And they need to come out and say so.

5. I don't think most people would see infidelity as a 'so what'
After all, many think Clinton's affair cost us the 2000 election. I don't think telling people to 'stick it' would work in the case of infidelity. BTW, I think Larry Flynt made a pretty determined effort to 'go after' GOP philanderers.

10. Wrong!
Gore's pussyfooting, not standing behind his president cost us the election. Well, and the theft in FL. But I believe Gore would have won by a bigger margin if he had publicly stated that these things don't necessarily make the man. It's naive to think otherwise.

8. Thank You!
Those pieces of shit rightwingnuts have to be dealt with like any other junkyard bully. Apologize and cry and they've gotcha by the balls. Stand up to them and they go away: POOF!

11. I agree the best way to deal with a bully is straight on!
Call their bluff and shove them to the ground, through sand in their face while you're at it.

9. Some guys just can't pass up a flame broiled whopper.
I don't say that to desmearch Kerry. I have no idea what the truth is.

But the argument that his wife is better than the intern doesn't hold water. Philanderers (and Kerry has not been shown to be one) aren't so much comparison shoppers as they are like gunslingers who cut "kills" into the handles of their revolvers.

Just consider the range of women that Clinton was involved with.

13. Actually...
you had me laughing on the "flame broiled whopper" thing , note taken. It's true, I've known circumstances where I didn't understand the indiscretion. I'm beyond the point of caring because if W* wants to appeal to his religious right, let him. It will fall silently on my ears. Won't work, has nothing to do with the job.

12. totally agree
when gary hart was still considering whether to run i was leaning towards him and john kerry to support. so i loved it when gary hart endorsed kerry. but it shows this is not and should not be an issue. gary hart, john kerry, both would make great presidents. bill clinton was a great president.

Bill Clinton was a great president and Gary Hart would have been one. I'm not about to let the same crapola interfer with my opinion of JK.

14. I don't think people would care to go through another shitstorm
like we did with Clinton. Any Democrat sitting in the White House is going to again face the wrath of the GOP, I fear.

Having said that, I'm not willing to take the word of a known Rove smear op and liar like Drudge.

Another story quoting the girl's parents mentioned that they admitted there was NO AFFAIR, they just thought he was a sleaze. :eyes:

No mainstream source would cover the story because it could not be verified.

Kerry went on Imus this morning and categorically denied the charge. I have no reason not to take him at his word. Those who want to believe it will, no matter what he says.

in the end I don't care! It's a nonissue, no matter the outcome imo.

17. It's tough to say...
"none of your business."

There will be relentless atacking going on, and far too many people will say it is their business. Very messy that way.

Myself, I shall happily remain under the impression that there is nothing to the story. Assuming this is the case, the appropriate response is something on the order of "Prove it."

I assume that everyone has noticed that when such shit is slung, it tends to fly back toward the accuser when said accuser can't come up with anything but suggestions, rumors, and innuendo.

Kerry-haters on all sides may well tend believe anything bad coming out, just as Bush-haters, Clinton-haters, and other miscellaneous haters are ever ready to believe the worst about their nemeses, evidence or not. This small coterie of haters, however, has little impact on what happens in the real world where people decide, vote and tend to ignore such drivel.

Even if some things may be true, like blonde lounge singers and blue dresses, to say nothing of Marilyn Monroe and mobster's wives, there really aren't all that many people who think it's terribly important.

I suspect more people actually admire the swordsmen than despise them. One of my favorite quotes from the old days was about Kissinger: "Anyone who climbs Jill St. John and the Great Wall of China in the same year is my kind of guy."

20. I predict
this will have been long forgotten by November. I never believed it to begin with.
Gary Hart would have made a great president. I was hoping he'd run for Nighthorse Campbell's seat this time but he's not going to.:(
