Dennis Kucinch is the PEOPLE'S candidate !
In Belfast, people listen to him as if he were speaking aloud their thoughts. There is the same atmosphere in Rockland. The general buzz isn't bad in Portland as representatives for other Democratic candidates take their turns at the podium, but the unabashed cheers, grins, and chants of "DENNIS! DENNIS! DENNIS!" as Kucinich walks down the center aisle shoot the mood to a new high.

Hyperbole? Read on. Women are three times as likely to agree with Kucinich's positions than they are with the other candidates. According to a recent study detailed in The Mercury News, "The prized voter of next year's Presidential election could be single women." The article goes on, "Polls show they not only are the most dissatisfied with the country's direction, but they think their concerns about education, jobs and healthcare are routinely ignored." Tending to earn less than $30,000 a year, they are often not courted by the average candidate. Single women look askance at the huge budget for "Star Wars" and trips to Mars.

These are the common themes among young Kucinich supporters: plain speaking, peace, and integrity. Tim Boland, 19, from Sanford, festooned with a faceful of metal, says "My favorite issue is the Department of Peace that Dennis wants to create. He thinks outside the box." Boland also declares of Kucinich, "He says what he thinks and he means what he says. He's not bought off."

Indeed, Kucinich is the only candidate in the race who refuses corporate and special interest money.

1. He certainly is.
And, as a PERSON,

he's got my vote. My support. My voice. Whatever time and $$ I can scrape together.

2. Most people would rather hear platitudes than truth that's why
he gets so little traction from the sheeple but is loved by a few.

3. The more people hear him
the more those numbers grow. Personal contact as a main strategy, unfortunately, makes for slow growth.

8. Indeed
He wins over everyone he sees in person. If only he could be cloned.

4. One of the best pieces
I have read about Dennis Kucinich.

I have emailed the story to as many of my friends, relatives, alma mater colleagues from my school and colleges in India presntly living in the US with a request to influence their friends and colleagues about this most unusual individual.

Here is the text of the message I sent along with this story:

"Living in Finland I am greatly impressed vith this man, Dennis Kucinich, one of the Democratic Candidates for nomination for the President. I have been following his campaign for almost a year.

Why is the American mainstream media ignoring this man? He comes closest to Gandhi, Mandela and Martin Luther King rolled into one!!

Could you mobilise your community behind this most unusual individual. Nothing more important in my mind than getting an American President who will heal the great divide caused by Bush and his cronies even though he is against the WTO.

Regards

Jacob"

6. Re: "Why is the American mainstream media ignoring this man?"
Because he is dangerous to the status quo, & the media are defenders of the status quo. In the US today, someone who is Gandhi, Mandela & ML King rolled into one would be ignored or ridiculed by the media - as Kucinich is. The media would treat any of these people as trouble-makers -- which they are (were), from the viewpoint of the Establishment.

5. Maybe Kucinich can pick up the pieces in 2008
after the presumed kerry presidency which will forever be known as the agonizing train wreck in slow motion.

10. yes we do
and yes he could still win.Surprise! Now that it looks as if bush is going down maybe people will reconsider the ABB stand which is killing any hope of a better tomorrow. Having a Democrat win is just not enough..I could say more but so much has been said..Dennis Kucinich is a man who can change our country and so much for the better. It could be a new world. Alas ,I think many are not ready for some real change. If they were this primary would be coming out so much differently. Peace.
