The Next Vice President of the United States!

I had once said that John Kerry would be the president of the U.S.
The only problem is, I said it while Al Gore was still in the race. As I made the claim I was instantly attacked and labeled an idiot that can't make accurate predictions. Then I would later claim that when Clark announced his bid for president that Clark would be the VP on the Kerry ticket....again ridiculed for making such a prediction.
My favorite being "Oh yeah, that's right, he's annoncing his candidacy for VP of the U.S." Well things are now panning out. Im not saying I can see the future, but I think I can see things for what they are. With General Clark on the Ticket, the national issue of National Security has been taken away from the Republicans. How can they effectively attack two War Heroes who served their nation and were IN WAR, when they have as their champion , a far cry from it. They Can't. With Edwards as VP, it would just feed the GOP machine the lines.... TRIAL LAWYER, TRIAL LAWYER, TRIAL LAWYER!!!
It's so annoying I can't stand it. It would take up so much room in the debate by giving the republicans something to repeat over and over again that they wouldn't have to spend as much time defeding their sorry records. Now with Clark as VP, They have only mud to try to sling at Kerry and see what sticks, but they will find a savy group already crying fowl from the dirty trick republicans. I see the way things are going, with the Kerry-Clark Admin on the roll, they can pound away at this disgraceful *Admin with extreme effectiveness.

1. I've always hoped for Edwards as our Atty General
What a contrast to the current turtle-in-charge. As a Clark supporter, I hope he's going to be in a the VP slot. Seeing him debate Cheney will be a joy. Another sharp contrast there. Ah yes!

4. Kind of like an Aragorn versus Wormtongue scenario

(meant to reply to original post)

We have the bright, powerful, charismatic knight-in-shining-armor still gleaming after all the battles he's been through, and in the other corner, the sleazy, conniving, scheming oily fiend who slithers around in the shadows and dark places whispering words of deceit and malcontent into the ears of the puppets.

What a contrast it would be. Such a clear display of good vs. evil one could only hope for in their dreams. Maybe it will be a dream no more.

I've felt that that is our best ticket. Clark is from the south too, which helps apparently

5. The contrast against the current Admin, would be stark!
Defense is the only weak-spot for the Dems. "Economy," the #1 issue this year, is already in the bag for Dems. the 2nd most important issue is defense/nat'l security.

Like you siad, not only would this ticket carry two combat-decorated Vets (against a pair who either joined the Guard to avoid the Vietnam, or simply "had better things to do"), but also, a 4-Star General. This would be GOLD!

Man, my (real-world) wet-dream ticket, for sure!

If Edwards isn't on the ticket, I hope the nominee will still announce a place for him in the administration, and that Edwards will do a lot of campaigning for the nominee.

7. I would like to see Clark as SOS
Clark would be awsome at being Sec. of State. I know clark supports don't like that idea, but hey, he would be great at it.

8. Think Big
Kerry is not going to pick one of the men who have run for the Democratic nomination.

He will need to expand the base -- move swing voters, especially the fabled 'soccer moms'. (Forget this 'NASCAR dad' garbage, they're 75% for Bush anyway.)

That means Kerry has to pick someone who brings a demographic advantage, ie. --suburban women. If that person also brings geographic balance, so much the better.

So, Kerry will pick for the vice presidential candidate: Louisiana US Senator Mary Landrieu.

A Kerry-Landrieu ticket will get 55% of the popular vote, win all the Gore states PLUS Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas, and New Hampshire.

9. What about
Bill Richardson (hispanic Gov. of New Mexico)

He is one of the most respected Gov's in the country plus all the minority vote would be a lock

10. Yes. Clark backs up Kerry's military creds which waver slightly
between being accused as 'Hanoi Jane Kerry' and voting against certain defense systems and Iraq War I, Clark solidifies the military image.
I am now 99.9% sure that General Clark will be on the ticket.
