did it seem to anyone else Edwards got the most controversial questions?
Do you believe in gay marriage? Do you believe in evolution? Question seemingly designed to put him on the spot?

Obama got softball questions and, except for the abortion one, so did Clinton. Just my take...

1. They always load these things to smear or promote who ever/what ever they choose
That is why I am sick of interviews by these tools of the right wing.

2. It stands to reason with the Shrum stuff
Edwards would get asked about gay marriage. Why would evolution put him on the spot, though?

Time-Warner, the corporate owner of People couldn't be trying to "get him" too hard....as this article will reach millions of household....and the story is at least a 5 hanky!

10. "Sojourners" is headed by Jim Wallis and is a progressive Christian group
He's notably said that he's trying to resurrect the idea of the "Christian Left."

7. Controversial or not, I think he handled the format the best
Obama and Clinton just seemed like candidates -- and Hillary especially seemed to be pandering to me when she spoke about a potential "alliance" with the anti-abortion crowd -- while Edwards spoke as a person, not out to score points but just to further introduce himself to the American people.

12. I disagree.......Edwards answered......I did this, did that, and will do everything for the poor
forever and ever....amen.

Edwards came off entirely as a politician.

Obama offered up the fact that with a bully pulpit, he could help change the heart of America....and it was a powerful message.

22. Yes, Edwards offered substance. Obama offered generic rhetoric
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 10:36 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
What policies did Obama talk about to alleviate poverty, aside from expanding early education, the latest DLC and HRC talking point. Where was his broader vision to deal with poverty? Where were the steps he is proposing to achieve his vision of ending poverty? There is a reason he is Wall Street's favorite candidate, even more so than HRC and Giuliani...

8. I Think Clinton Got Some Tough Ones Too!
Obama seems to have talked more than have questions posed. They were all good... but John Edwards seemed more relaxed than the others, IMO.

It's better to have candidates talk this way... much better!

11. "What would you do in the first 100 days?" I'll travel the world!
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 07:29 PM by MethuenProgressive
They were all asked this one last night, and instead of mentioning poverty, or saying he'll end the war in Iraq, he's evidently day-dreaming of galavanting around to North Korea, Iran, Darfur, and Lebanon to "make them respect us again"...

on edit: added "last night"

Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 07:28 PM by MethuenProgressive
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19015716/

At the conclusion of the two-hour debate, the candidates were asked what their top priority would be for their first 100 days in office:

Edwards: “travel the world” and “re-establish America’s moral authority.”
Clinton: bring home U.S. troops from Iraq.
Obama: bring home U.S. troops and push for national health care.

(I haven't seen tonight's yet!)

I don't care how many hannities are out there CLAIMING it's controversial, it simply isn't. If believing in evolution is controversial, then I'll just float right out of my front fuckin' door because gravity is bullshit too.

It's only on the front page of middle american newspapers and school board elections most of the time.

A plurality of Americans (48%) think life began just as the Bible states.
