Here's the link:

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/

There was something interesting about AWOL. Apparently Rove has dredged up a commander who said he saw * 4 to 6 weekends in Alabama for National Guard duty. Man, I bet that was one expensive memory cell! :D

1. CNN *just* mentioned rumor of Kerry affair (2:25pm-ish CST)
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 03:37 PM by krkaufman
CNN just mentioned rumor of Kerry affair, oh-so-freaking-indirectly...

CNN anchor (Asian gal) commented on Kerry's Imus appearance from the morning and the fidelity issue, and they played Kerry's denial.

Drudge rumor... to Imus...to CNN... to pseudo-fact.

(And now CNN is providing free airtime for BushRove's emailed ad.)

2. Well, I don't think they consider the rumor too important,
or it would be on their front page. Think I will go back and read the information about Clark's endorsement. Unfortunately I missed it being played live.

3. And now Woofwoof is keeping it alive, but quotes Clark
Clark, according to TV reporter via Woofwoof:
"I know of absolutely nothing, past or present, that could derail Kerry's campaign."

5. And so it goes.....
The sun rises every morning, taxes are due in April, death is a fact of life, and if Kerry wins the nomination, Rove's attack machine will be pointed at his head. These are universal truths.

helping the enemy.

8. The story isn't spreading....
...as fast as some would like:

John Kerry Sex Scandal: U.S. Media Blackout?

<snip>

"According to news reports across the Internet and in various international publications, Democratic Presidential front-runner John Kerry may have had an extramarital affair with a 22-year old blonde intern."

<snip>

"But the real story today may be the lack of coverage by the major American news media.

According to a story published today in MensNewsDaily.com, "A source at one of the major television networks (said) that they are specifically forbidden to talk about (the Kerry sex scandal) on the air until one of the other major television networks reports on it first."

A quick search on Google News at this hour shows that only two major U.S. newspapers are running stories on the emerging Kerry sex scandal: The Philadelphia Daily News and the Chicago-Sun Times."

9. An outrage!! News outlets won't run a story that lacks sources..!!
MensNewsDaily.com a right-wing rag? or what? Sounds like a silly article, complaining that news outlets won't run a totally unsubstantiated story.

Dog forbid that some shred of journalistic integrity still remains.

10. My, my its not spreading. That must mean there's either an international
coalition of Skull and Bonesmen who are squelching the facts  :tinfoilhat:, or, maybe, just maybe, there's nothing to report. :wow: Is that a concept or what?

21. Just another crappy blog...
..in hot pursuit of the 'truth.' Or a variant thereof. Not much to choose from over at google news. It was either these guys or RushLimbaugh.com. This story isn't getting much domestic play outside a few bottom feeding blogs.

14. Hmmm,
"The buzz of the blogosphere has been this report from Matt Drudge that Kerry is at the center of an exploding infidelity scandal. (Though in fact the blogosphere beat Drudge by nearly a week in reporting rumors that this was being investigated by major news outlets.) Is it true? Beats me, though politicians being what they are, that's probably the way to bet."

So major news outlets have been investigating it for weeks it seems, and still nothing!

18. "major news outlets have been investigating it" - also a Drudge "factoid"
Several major news outlets mention by Drudge have said they are doing nothing of the kind.

So, keeping score.....

Clark (supposed source) says he knows nothing. Strike 1
Major news sources not investigating this. Strike 2

What will be strike three that pops the balloon of another Drudge "Exclusive"?

16. I think the "intern" story is about gone. There just isn't any info on it
to grab ahold of. All the quotes seem to have been gathered from everyone who is associated with this and is interested in talking about it. No photos are available. There is no smoking gun.

There is less info on this than Bush's alleged girlfriend who he may have driven out of state to have an abortion.
