Some "lemonade" thoughts on the amnesty for twelve million
I am not gonna go into my reasons for not being pleased with the recent Immigration Legislation.

I will save my breath on that one.

But in hearing again and again how it is that because there are too many people who are illegally here - some twelve million if not more - and how difficult it must be to deport all twelve million -
that the law must be reformatted to conform to allow amnesty to those who ignored it - I had a sudden Eureka! moment.

Aren't there more than twelve million pot smokers in this country?

If the rationale to overturn a major point of law is simply this:
that when enough human beings ignore a law then it should be re-formated, with amnesty for all who have ignored the law

By that very reasoning, anyone now in jail for smoking weed or dealing weed
(and I am only talking ganga here - not the harder stuff) those people should be freed.

And for that matter, I should be free to walk the streets of any town in the USA unashamedly standing next to the cigarette smokers out in front of the neighborhood bar.

All unjust laws should be overturned(including immigration laws that discriminate against Latin Americans, and favor Europeans)
I lost you on the immigration analogy tho, Maybe its the use of the word " Amnesty" i sure wouldn't want to pay for every joint I've smoked.

4. YES!!!
Our laws against Marijuana are stupid and ultimately racist. There are an estimated 20+ million smokers in America. Over 500,000 jailed each year on simple possession alone. No one has ever died from weed, yet over 400,000 die each year directly from tobacco.

5. I had the exact same thought the other day...
I hadnt considered the amnesty aspect though. Great point. I figure... if people here illegally are getting a get out of jail free card... then I think the actual citizens of the country deserve one as well. dammit.
