Only 13% of Americans support cutting funds for war.
Thanks to larisa for the following link > THE NEW YORK TIMES

Sixty-one percent of Americans say the United States should have stayed out of Iraq and 76 percent say things are going badly there, including 47 percent who say things are going very badly, the poll found.

Still, the majority of Americans support continuing to finance the war as long as the Iraqi government meets specific goals.

President Bush’s approval ratings remain near the lowest of his more than six years in office. Thirty percent approve of the job he is doing over all, while 63 percent disapprove.

More Americans — 72 percent — now say that “generally things in the country are seriously off on the wrong track” than at any other time since the Times/CBS News poll began asking the question in 1983. The number has slowly risen since January 2004. Then, 53 percent said the country was “seriously off on the wrong track,” and by January of this year it was 68 percent.

Also Virginia Dare makes an excellent point HERE "on the one hand they are telling us that cutting off funding will end the war, on the other hand they are telling us that cutting off funds will not effect the troops because the war is already funded?

I can't see a good solution here? As Gore said, it seems "we have to choose between bad and worse."

1. How about we separate what truly goes to the welfare and supply of the troops directly FROM
the fat, bloated profits gleaned by the war profiteering corporations who comprise the Military Industrial Complex? Methinks that would be billions less.

If we keep feeding The Military Industrial Complex they will FULLY OWN US like they do almost all of our Congressional Representatives. :wow: :scared: :grr:

3. It's how the administration sold it
They have the people thinking that it hurts the troops if we cut off the funding.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

4. The Pubic talking point is "Either you give them $100 Billion or
nothing". That's not the case. the Dems blew it again. they had plenty of options to keep the troops funded and kick Bush in the ass at the same time. They could have given them $50 Billion, or given him $75 Billion and said to pay for it we are raising taxes on the gluttonous top 1%. Or many other options, but noooooooooooo, they get caught up in the Pubic game of all or nothing and they lose again, big time, as Big Dick cheney would say.

8. It depends, if we can get Republicans to support setting a deadline
in the near future, we may be in a good position in 08?
