Capitulation - It's All Our Fault
Two of the three Democratic presidential frontrunners voted for this catastrophic war (heck, one even co-sponsored it!) despite most Democrats voting against it.

The Congressional Dems see this and realize that there is zero price to be paid by a Democrat for voting for war.

End of story.

1. Yup.
Add to that...Who are they going to vote for the Republicans? They can do whatever they want and they know it.

5. This Is The Way Of The DLC
Push far to the Right - just slightly less far than the Republicans.

(Who else are you gonna' vote for, suckas?)

6. You know all that GOTV stuff?
There are more of us than them? If we can just motivate people to vote we can't lose? Well, I think they just motivated a whole lot of regular voters to stay home. If someone does not really care but votes because they know they are supposed to then I can't imagine they will make the effort when it seems that everyone on both sides agree on the war we elected the Dems to get us out of. Just one more thought coming out of the cloud of disgust I am feeling right now.

2. You are absolutely right! Manny, you nailed it.
I can hear the Democratic "leaders" right now: "These anti-war peaceniks don't like what we do? What are they gonna' do? Where are they gonna' go? Ha ha ha ha!"

We are sheep...

4. If true they do not have to be re-elected.
Most politicians do not build a career on one term.

3. It is not capitulation the sky is not falling
Edited on Fri May-25-07 01:22 PM by azurnoir
we did not fund the war through the 2008 what happened yesterday was to pass what the pukes purposely did not pass last year, why? The political process is not as easy as some seem to think it is. Busj unfortunately is still in the WH and he will stand in the way and yes use the welfare of the troops as a trump card, the Iraq war authorization was written so that funds for troops in Iraq and possibly in Afghanistan were separate from the general military budget and even though there are those that claim it's a right wing rumor our troops in Iraq do depend on the funds allocated last night.
