They had better not give one fucking inch to conservatives. Not one inch. I think we ought to ignore their very existence and plow our way through to a progressive future. I'm not optimistic. I'm almost too resigned to even be mad.

1. We just pissed away the next election.
We no longer have the moral high ground in the War.

We are no better than commander guy.

2. It was pissed away before this vote.
Ain't no way swing-vote Bubba is voting for "a woman, a black man or a metrosexual" (to use what swing-vote Bubba would say).

Unless we have a candidate who can wrestle some white males away from the Republican (like Bill Clinton did), we're not going to have a Dem president for a long, long while. It's the nature of our entertainment, corporate media.

7. But they will vote for a anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-rights NY liberal?
Or a Mormon?

I seem to remember wing nuts pushing for Condoleeza Rice to run for President.

And before that Elizabeth Dole, who, by the way is a woman elected to the Senate in North Carolina, a state full of bubbas. Trust me, I live there and I know plenty of bubbas.

3. Disappointment, depression. anger, action
How can we be optimistic when the realization is that we are nothing to the pigs who rule this country?
They will not hear us, they do not care. They are motivated only by their own greed. They reside in a rat maze of secret deals vs. rewards. They call this "hard work".

To hell with them all!
But we're not going away - they are.

4. I'm still
optimistic that we'll take back the white house and congress. The republican party needs to be wiped out for good.
