Iraq war...Patriot act...I mean many Clark supporters were saying that Clark was a man of his principles...I guess they were wrong. I'm really disappointed.

1. Confusing goals and principles, I think
Clark took principled stands against thos issues but the overriding goal is to get rid of Bush*

He said yesterday that he and Kerry had differences on issues, but reaffirmed his pledge to do everything he could to defeat Bush*.

7. What should he have done instead?
Getting rid of Bush is one of his principles, BTW.

9. Nader didn't sacrifice his principles
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 02:14 PM by krkaufman

He only sacrified the country.

Some of Wes Clark's positions may have differed from John Kerry's, but I'm pleased that Wes Clark's principles, fighting for the long-term benefit of the country and its people, remain intact.

Frame the issue as you wish; the truth remains inviolate.

4. Well You're wrong
Unprincipled would be supporting:

Dean: Who has no foreign policy experience and spent the better part of two months calling Clark a republican

I can't believe its a Dean/Clark war on DU again :eyes:

11. Except now
It's just pathetic.

Before it was a real fight. Now one candidate is out, and the other is a joke on late night tv.

*sigh*

I just can't work up the enthusiasm, you know? Anyway, it's too easy to smack them down, now.

All I need is one smiley:

It's not even a challenge.

8. Once again: Clark serves his country, not Clark. Getting rid of Bush
is his goal - and mine too.
That's what he said to a flustered Woof Woof:

WOODRUFF: But you also said the country should not have a Washington insider as a president. And John Kerry is certainly an insider.
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0402/12/ip.00.html
CLARK: What I've said is the country needs the best president it can get. And the country needs a change in administration in Washington. And we're going to get that change, Judy. I'm just convinced that we can do that.

The country passed the chance of best presedent ever. Now it will get - the best one it can get
His pledge:

"I will support our Party's nominee, to continue this campaign until we take back the White House next November.  This soldier stands ready for duty.  It's not going to be easy.  So I've got one bit of advice for our nominee: give 'em hell and never retreat.
As a general who spent thirty-four years fighting for my country, here is my pledge: I will do everything I can -- everything -- to make sure George W. Bush doesn't play politics with national security.

18. More noise
<"I will support our Party's nominee, to continue this campaign until we take back the White House next November.”>

Seeing as how he has just endorsed Senator Kerry, the general must think that the primary race was over once he withdrew.

And what if Senator Kerry is not the nominee?

10. Clark as the anti-Dean means Clark was a place for people to go
who did not support Dean, not siphoning off of the Dean vote.

17. Clark disagreed with Kerry on some issues.
He also thinks Kerry should be the nominee out of the candidates remaining.

Sorry, but no sacrifice of principles can be noted from these matters.

20. One more time - better quote:

And why I will support our Party's nominee, to continue this campaign until we take back the White House next November. This soldier stands ready for duty. And I need every single one of you to join me in this battle. Because this was never about my future. It was a call to duty, not of ambition. Of service to country, not to self. It was always about America's future. And that future will be decided in this election. It's not going to be easy. So I've got one bit of advice for our nominee: give 'em hell and never retreat.

I know it's hard for you to understand, but some people are not measurable with the crass stick.
