75% of Americans say U.S. headed in wrong direction

WASHINGTON -- It's gloomy out there. Men and women, whites and minorities -- all are feeling a war-weary pessimism about the country seldom shared by so many people.

Only 25 percent of those surveyed say things in the U.S. are going in the right direction, according to an AP-Ipsos poll this month. That is about the lowest level of satisfaction detected since the survey started in December 2003.

3. I canvassed yesterday in NH. By my mini-survey it's more like
90%. People are really angry at this administration. Most of the people I canvassed are going to vote Democratic but the few who weren't still were disgusted with the war and Bush. Another interesting thing was that 100% said that they would not elect John Sununu to the Senate. Also, the top issues of concern to people, other than the war, were health care and education.

4. If 50.1% is a mandate, what is 75%?
I guess the Bush Adminstration thinks it can just ignore 75% of the people.

I do find comfort in knowing that Bush has peaked, and is now experiencing the decline of his misadministration, with more dark days ahead than bright ones.

I know it's wrong of me to find joy in that, but I do. :)
