Bush's gaffes with the Queen were staged.
My wife noticed that his "delivery" during the double gaffe was very "paced." As if rehearsed over and over by a non-actor.

I noticed that he "noticed" that he made a "gaffe" and "recovered." He usually doesn't even notice his gaffes, much less attempts to recover.

He's an embarrassment to America, but he has taken direction on occasion.

1. Funny, I felt that too...
The mid-date correction was indeed very uncharacteristic.

I think it was his little "joke". I suspect HM was Not Amused.

2. A deliberate "gaffe",with some kind of lame recovery. He's on his last legs.

5. That's ridiculous
He can't open his stupid mouth without screwing up his words. It's a normal pattern with him. He's too damn stupid to "stage" anything.

7. A President who only knows how to play games.
Because he's a child that has never been forced to grow up and be an adult. A child who has been sheltered, protected, and forgiven because of his privileged status of being born into a powerful and corrupt family.

A child who ran from his responsibility to serve his country, despite having every exception and consideration made for him to start with.

A child who couldn't resist the attraction of drugs and alcohol, and didn't have the courage or inner strength to overcome his addictions, because he never had to before.

A child who treats others as if they are beneath him. And he honestly, truly believes he is superior to others, regardless of their intellect or achievements on their own, without help from people in power.

A child who was able to botch his way through a Presidential campaign - twice - and still win because it was given to him.

A child who has staged public relations stunts from the very moment he took office, including, very possibly, the biggest one of all: 9/11.

So it really comes as no surprise that he would play games with a visiting foreign dignitary, because playing games is what he does best and is normal behavior for him.

Life is just a big game to George Bush, and the American people and troops are just pieces on the game board. Pieces to be shoved around at the spin of the dice, at a whim, or hurled across the room in a fit of anger because things aren't going his way.

I'm ready for this game to end. How about the rest of you?

10. I thought the same thing. It's FIG JAM, as another thread says

FIG JAM = Fuck I'm Good Just Ask Me

The very first time I ever saw the man on television I thought "smart ass white boy," later amended to "smart ass frat boy."

He's almost 61, past time to act like a grown-up when the occasion requires it.

12. It wasn't even funny, even if properly "timed"....
How disrepectful to any lady of that age, much less the Queen of England to make a ha-ha regarding her age.

He's such a d*ckweed. I could almost hear Babs groan :D

13. It's his handlers' new promotion of Smirky's personna.

They have given up on trying to make him look like a dignified and intelligent statesman ....

so the only other choice left to them is to make him appear *stupid but loveable*.

Too bad he can't even pull that off. AWOL Monkey-Boy doesn't give them a hell of a lot to work with.

14. I believe he has gotten to the point of using stupidity as a crutch.
in the hopes of getting an emotional back lash of sympathy from the uninformed and the mass corporate media will do their best to make sure plenty of people remain uniformed.

Sort of like some criminals pleading insanity as a defense, Bush is pleading ignorance, and inept stupidity, his Attorney General has adopted this defense as well.
