There Is No Blue Dress In The Kerry Story
There are no White House tapes showing conversations. There are no friends secretly tape-recording conversations between Kerry and this woman.

All there is...from all the reports I've read...is that a friend of this woman wants to sell her story to make some quick money at the expense of her friend and John Kerry.

There is nothing here.

There is no proof. And there never will be proof.

Even if this woman comes out and claims it was all true, Kerry can still deny it and at WORST, it'll turn into a 'he said, she said' argument.

And in the absence of facts, the story will wither and die.

Becuase there is no blue dress with a stain on it.
Because there is no tape recordings.
Because there is no third party verification.

We will still be talking about the AWOL issue long after this story has made the rounds, if it ever does.

1. How do you know?
The National Enquirer said Kerry was kinky and liked to watch himself have sex in front of a mirror.

Who knows what other kinky stuff he likes to do. Maybe there is "evidence" out there. We don't know until someone interviews this girl.

6. Don't laugh at the National Enquirer
All of their stories are vetted extensively so they don't get sued. They broke the Limbaugh case. They break a lot of news.

8. they break a lot of rumors
This is a rumor. Nothing more. Until Kerry's DNA shows up on an article of this woman's clothing.

Nothing short of concrete evidence is going to sway me. Nor is nothing short of that going to make this a national story.

32. well
the enquirer does a bit of both. rumor and fact. they usually like to mix them together for a nice juicy story.

while most stuff is atleast 90% rumor, sometimes alot of stories have a small fraction of truth underneeth all the dirt.

you just gotta take what they say with a grain of salt and realise they are the enquirer!
"prolly not true, but hell, could be!"

13. Bull...hockey
"All of their stories are vetted extensively so they don't get sued. They broke the Limbaugh case. They break a lot of news."

Then why has Tom Cruise sued them so many times and won, not to mention other celebs. Oprah has held up at least 5 tabloid magazines at one time on her show laughing about the nonsense in the headlines about her. They are TRASH magazines. Geezee...aliens from an "apple tree"...give me a break.

14. Do you forget the giant clam in the Gulf of Mexico that has been
eating fishermen? What other explanation for all the missing fishermen? (irony here) I used to live in South Florida and knew people who were approached by the Enquirer with big money to come up with sleazy stories.

33. In front of a mirror? Is that considered "kinky"?
Come on...that's nothing. And it certainly doesn't mean anything was videotaped. Good grief! He's a Senator with presidential aspirations. He would have to be a moron to make a tape of himself.

the allegations were floated, long after Clinton's denial.

Kerry had better be telling the truth. Far more than just his candidacy depends on it.

23. Have you seen this? Blue Dress or not, this is a matter of great concern.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004072203,00.html

Even without so called PROOF and/or blue dresses, this damages his chances against the Republican Machine in November.

This woman gave an interview BEFORE Kerry was a front runner. I'd take that into consideration if I were a Kerry supporter.

"in New York

THE beauty said to have had a fling with presidential hopeful John Kerry has recorded a bombshell tell-all interview.

Journalist Alex Polier taped a talk with a US TV network at Christmas.

The former Washington intern, 27, told all about an alleged fling with the 60-year-old super-rich senator in spring 2001.

The channel is sitting on the tape until it has enough evidence to back her story."

Enough evidence, or until he's the only man left standing against Bush?

26. It's been posted a few times I believe
A reply to the original thread for that showed it was owned by Hollinger International and Perle is on the board of HI. Also, I know Carlyle Group has represented clients attempting to acquire european news outlets, newspaper and tv stations. It's a smart way to start a smear, let it begin in Europe then let trickle into the US. Removes responsibility from bush* co.

30. Well, here's what I think
I believe there's nothing to the story and the woman will come forward with a denial but only when bush* co directly uses this as a smear against Kerry. It gives Kerry a great counter offensive to say bush* doesn't want to talk about the issues.

25. I hope you're right, because he would be a selfish bastard if it is...
If the rumor is true (which I hope it's not), it would cement in many DUers minds that Kerry is only out for #1. And, "electibility" of a nominee was a SERIOUS mistake that led to a pack mentality and our downfall in the 2004 general election.

31. STATEMENT FROM WOMAN ABOUT SENATOR KERRY
Statement From Woman About Sen. Kerry

By The Associated Press

A statement released Monday by Alexandra Polier, who has been the subject of rumors linking her to Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites):

"For the last several days I have seen Internet and tabloid rumors relating to me and Senator John Kerry. Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. It seems that efforts to peddle these lies continue, so I feel compelled to address them. I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, and the rumors in the press are completely false. Whoever is spreading these rumors and allegations does not know me, but should know the pain they have caused me and my family. I am in Kenya with my fiance visiting his family, and we ask that the press respect our privacy and leave all of us alone."

A statement by Terry and Donna Polier, the parents of Alexandra Polier:

"We have spoken to our daughter and the allegations that have been made regarding her are completely false and unsubstantiated. We love and support her 100 percent and these unfounded rumors are hurtful to our entire family. We appreciate the way Senator Kerry has handled the situation, and intend on voting for him for president of the United States."
