Imus going nuts over Kerry Intern story- cohost calls it Bimbo Eruption
They are laughing and joking, but Imus walked in late and his mike was off as it started with the news about Kerry's alleged affair with a 26 year old from Penssylvania.

Imus seemed pissed - complaining that his mike was off and told them to stop talking about it. But they couldn't.

Then they just cut to a picture of Kerry while they played Clinton's "I did not have sexual realtions with that woman" overdub.

Imus's guys complaining that the mainstream news media's silence is very loud.

THIS is the mainstream. Imus is - like it or not.

Kerry's appearance on Imus has been pushed up an hour to 7:30 am

I'll bet he cancels

5. Its hard for me to believe Imus is a Kerry supporter.
In fact he said he's voting for bush*. He was saying don't talk bad about Kerry at the same time waving his hands like he was saying keep talking. I don't believe bush*ie headed Imus or any of his co-horts on that show. The only reason I'm watching is to hear what Kerry says. I hope the hell its a fake planted story and its found out it was done by a republican or possibly Dean. He does think he has something to get even for doesn't he? But in fact he doesn't.

about Kerry, 2 in fact. The first he (correctly) called Kerry - President Kerry and then said in a derogatory voice - Please - and later on said there was no difference between Kerry and bush*. Any Democrat who would say something that stupid can't be president, like Nader he's too stupid to be president.

Kerry voting with Bush is a very REAL issue. Kerry taking corporate sponsors is a REAL issue. Those are ISSUES, my friend. Dean wouldn't do anything like this.

Talk about doing sleazy things- you're accusing Dean of smearing Kerry with this affair allegation with no proof whatsoever. And he DIDN'T even do it. Way to go.

22. Read about the Project for Progressive Internationalism
Then read the Project for A New American Century (PNAC). Compare and contrast. Then get back to me on Howard Dean's statement.

The similarities are stunning. "Progressive Internationalism" is featured prominently in Kerry's book.

The intent of PNAC and PPI policies are the same. Both rely on the use of military might as a means to promote an international environment more favorable to American interests. The seeming difference between PPI and PNAC is that PPI would like us to have a couple more allies in the process. Otherwise the means, methods, and goals are the same.

This is why Kerry proposes to grow the Army. He intends to use it.

Please do tell how this is different than Bush*. But do a bit or reading first.

8. I'll bet he
doesn't cancel and gives a very strong rebuttal. Kerry is too smart to risk a presidential run with a "Clinton" problem just waiting to happen. I see this as a sign that Rove and co. are starting to panic. Kerry is a guy who doesn't fuck up under pressure; running a campaign that assumes that he will is a sucker's bet.

things, but he needs to stand up for himself, here. Nuancing isn't going to cut this one. He needs to flat-out deny this, and be ANGRY about it.

More than ANYTHING we need to see some real ANGER from Kerry, here, or he's finished. His political career is counting on it.

But, if he's going to deny it, he needs to deny it right. Like I said, none of this nuancing garbage. None of this "we need a broader coalition" garbage.

I suspect that you probably WILL see some fire from him on Imus.

On edit: This is an extremely nasty personal attack, and it needs to be met with appropriate intensity. If he doesn't meet it that way, he's going to be seen as weak.

Clinton KNEW the Republicans were just ITCHING to have ANY reason to kick him out of office, and HE couldn't control himself! Was Clinton dumb? No, he was a RHODES SCHOLAR! Getting caught with your pants down is NOT a matter of intelligence, so don't make it one - it's a matter of self-control. Does Kerry have it? I don't know, but I'll tell you what WON'T work - "MY NAME IS JOHN KERRY AND I AM RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT...LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE AT THE BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP...", as Jon Stewart says.

21. LOL!!!
The problem with Elitists like Kerry (and Bush) is that they think they can get away with anything simply because they are rich.

The Divine "right" of kings. God PLACED them in power because God loves them better than us serfs and paeons.

If this is true I, for one, am very happy he got caught.

If true it is definitve PROOF that he is a prevaricating self-server.

The kind who cuts to the front of the line at the buffet "just because" he is privileged and he can.

If this is a fraudulent smear, I still feel the same way about Kerry. I will just be wrong on ths instance of deceit by Kerry.

29. I'll bet my credibility
but that is probably not worth much to a Kerry supporter.

I believe that Kerry probably is NOT fully prepared for this. It seemed like Imus would have squelched the talk if he had been on air om time. A quirk of fate, Maybe he had an agreement with the Kerry people NOT to discuss it.

My gut tells me that Kerry might cancel in order to regroup.

Or he may be preparing his defense.

Everyone will quote him once he comments so he either has to refuse to comment or he has to issue an angry denial.

NEITHER of these optins helps him unless there is NO TRUTH to the allegation.

If there is ANY truth to them then he is finished.

Either way he can only benefit from this if he is prepared AND it is totally false.

I am too broke to bet $$$ on it though.

It's a figure of speech.

YOu think Kerry will show.

Maybe he will.

Maybe he won't.

I may wish I'd taken a money bet in a few minutes.

All I know is that Kerry is in deep doo-doo if he was fooling around.

My guess is that he was - especially if the story about the girl named in British tabloids is true.

He's a schmuck and schmucks are cowrads.

Like Clinton - he may have to keep up the lie until he can "settle" with Theresa.

But I would bet he is pissed that Imus broke the story nationally now in the mainstream - and he may blow Imus off.

we shall see.

But don't impugn my character because I used a colloquialism

his hero story can be shot to shit. imagine going back and videotaping a re-inactment. he shot a wounded man. he sustained fleash wounds and got transferred to a cush position. He can be strung up as little more than an opportunist.

I despise this juvenile, adolescent boy fantasy about the nature of war and heroism. The other night I caught a scene from the movie "The Straight Story" where the main character poured out his deep guilt and wounds from war to a sympathetic stranger. He carries them all his life.

Who knows the generation of men that filled the ranks of the homeless--addicted to drugs, alcoholic, lost men, the legacy of Viet Nam.

45. The Republican on my bus...
There's a guy who rides my bus every day. We're mostly Democrats
on the bus (it is, after all, public transportation from a state
that believes SUVs are god) so he doesn't have a lot to say to us,
but given the fact that he frequently reads the Manchester Union
Liar
, I'd guess he's a Republican.

Well, yesterday afternoon, he got on the bus positively gleeful and
came directly over to me (as I was wearing my standard "Dean" button)
and said, "Well, your guy had a great day today!" I said, relatively
non chalantly, "Oh, you mean about Kerry?". "Yes! Rush was talking
about it all afternoon!" (Probably an exageration, but it certainly
had HIM fired up!)

Sorry, Kerry folks, but this story is not going to go gently into
that good night, and it will probably dog your guy right up to the
moment when he either drops out or loses the election.

35. So much more "electible" is he?
This story doesn't surprise me in the least. After Dean introduced his wife, I noticed Kerry trying to emulate the affection Dean openly expresses for his wife- and I couldn't help but notice that Kerry's missus gave him, what looked like, the cold shoulder. She doesn't look pleased up there, the missus, surveying her subjects.

What has Kerry got other than his alpha male stand on Viet Nam, which in itself is compromised by shifting positions? He can't really challenge Bush on any pertinent issues of the hour- since he voted to support all of Bush's failed policies. In addition, he is an uninspiring, dull and pompous candidate. The establishment Democrats must want us to lose- they are rushing to lock up the nomination with a liability.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me that they would rather lose the election with one of their own, than lose party influence and win the election with an outsider candidate who would shake things up inside the beltway.
