1. Self-fulfilling prophecy in action . . .
“I am not sure which woman he was afraid of: the woman in the red dress or the Secretary of State,” said Sean McCormack, the US State Department spokesman."

If you were the Iranian wouldn't you now feel it *NECESSARY* to demonstrate that you/Iran are NOT afraid of anyone?????????????

Way to go Mr. McCormack! You just moved this country one step closer to your desired goal WAR with Iran.

3. Maybe I'm ridiculously naive, Patrice, but...
I really, truly, honestly don't think that we're going to war with Iran. They're too well armed. I don't think there would've been an Iraq War if Saddam was anywhere near the threat they made him out to be. The job of those inspectors, imho, was to unwittingly give the administration the high-sign that the coast was clear.

If the Iranians decide to disarm, different story.

6. You're probably right about whether we'd actually do it or not,
unless McCain is elected that is, but I'm still thinking about the effect of such statements on whatever is said thereafter, especially since McClellan said he was afraid of a woman.

Not! exactly the way to encourage reality based dialogue.

2. How come no photos were taken of this red dress? Was it low-cut?
If it WAS low cut, or slinky or something, I can see that Muslim men would not be particularly comfortable around her.

They can't be really comfortable around her, anyway, even if she was in a burka. (or however you spell it! )
