Politico.com?
What is the deal with these guys?

What is their agenda?

All the info about them I've found so far is very vague.

1. Rightist Shills, Sir, Though They Try And Hide It
A pretty unsavory production, in my view....

2. trying to get their way into the blogs as "outsiders" but when ....
.... bush made a point of announcing the reporter from Politico.com @
a recent press conference I smelled a big old:

3. Van de Hei (sp?) used to work for the WaPo and started this online rag, along
with Mike Allen (another tool). This is a huge venue for them, but if you check their website, there's a definite r/w slant. They do 'occasionally' have something worthy, but they've also been wrong about 'breaking' news more than once.

5. Yes, I seem to recall that they had a breaking story that they had to apologize for
Since it turned out not to be true.

Don't remember the details though.

6. Corporate ran Internet "political" newsite to keep us in-line with Netpropaganda!
Amazing how it became so "established" in like....5 minutes!

A new "tool" to be used by the Corporate suits to control the country's future, their agenda, and promote the candidates they want to choose for us.

A source to be used by the rest of the media and pundits to "quote" when they need back up to their fucked up slant on political "news".

An outfit to be useful when smearing is required (just in time for the political season--they lost 2006 to the Netroots) as "Drudge" is no longer seen as credible by 99% of voters. In other words, INSTANT CREDIBILITY CREATED OUT OF THIN AIR LIKE MAGIC! and believe you me, it will become a mainstream mainstay by the time voters are paying attention!

11. Execllent analysis
The day before John Edwards announced that Elizabeth's cancer had returned, they spread the lie that he was going to quit the race.

Mainly right wing noisies, but once awhile, pander the other direction because they've already been busted. They are in bed with Drudge.

8. They were initially presented as an impartial political resource
I was very excited about that. Unfortunately, their articles often resemble something one might find on the opinion page of the WSJ. Disappointing, to say the least.

9. Just remember when listening to their report
it has a republican bias , They do get access to some
good stories and information. Vandeheigh is better at
hiding his bias than Allen.

12. WH talking points
There seems to be a direct feed of White House talking points into the Politico folks. Also Drudge cites to them a lot.

13. CoFounder was first to report Republican's impeachment plans for Clinton.
According to wiki:

Jim VandeHei (1971- ) is an American political reporter and co-founder of The Politico

"He was the first to report in 1998 that Republicans were formally planning to impeach President Clinton."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_VandeHei

-=-

He was one of the two politico.com guys interviewed by Tweety after the repub debate tonite.

They also floated that Biden "shove it down his throat" YouTube BS a few days ago.
