On Proving the Iraq War and the War on Terrorism
Edited on Wed May-02-07 09:51 PM by SnoopDog
Want to stop the war in Iraq? Want to really fight the war on terror? I propose the following two House and Senate joint bills:

#1 The Iraq Resource Sovereignty Act of 2007:

The United States of America mandates, and enforced by the United Nations, that all natural resources of Iraq remain under total control of the Iraqi government. Foreign governments are prohibitive from owning or controlling any part of Iraq’s natural resources.

#2 The Global Anti-Terrorism Act of 2007:

Under this Act, Congress hereby establishes the Global Anti-Terrorism Agency. All funds currently earmarked for the Iraq War will be transfer to this new Agency. The purpose of this agency will be to work with law enforcement agencies around the world. The sole purpose – to stop terrorists acts around the world using established law enforcement practices.

You get the idea. These two bills prove that this war in Iraq has nothing to with Iraqi oil while initiating the global fight against terror.

Every Congressperson and every Senator should have absolutely no problem with these two bills. As stated by the president and by the Congress and the Senate – we are in a grave war against terror. Pouring money into a global agency to fight terror is just. And supporting our troops is provided for.

If Congress or the Senate not pass these two bills – that proves that they are after the oil and that is all. If passed, but the president vetoes the bill, that proves he is only after the oil.

Might be something we mandate our Congress to initiate…

1. A critical part of the Iraq Sovereignty Act
should be allowing the Iraqis to vote, in a UN-monitored election, on whether the US should stay. Though painfully simple, it will be avoided at all costs -- because we all know what the answer would be.

2. That is a great idea.
I changed my post to focus on the 'resource' aspect of the Act. Yes - in general - we mandate that Iraq is, in total, a sovereign nation. Period.
