Jon Stewart is a deeply patriotic, honorable mensch
I was so touched by his sentiments and his manner on Bill Moyers' Journal tonight. (Friday)

I hope there's a transcript and a video of his conversation with Moyers. And I hope all of DU will listen. There's an unabashed love of America and democracy pouring out of Stewart's passion and energy.

God bless America and Jon.

2. I would love to have seen it
Is Bill Moyers on every night? I knew Jon was going to be on, but didn't know when. I watched the show on the war on Wed., but I am so sorry I missed this one. Is his journal weekly, nightly? I hope there's a video - I love Jon and am so impressed with Moyers after watching the other night, and seeing him on Bill Maher last Friday.

8. I found some clips here and what looks to be complete
rebroadcast of earlier shows. They might have the entire show from last night if you check back.

9. I thought that was great
You could tell Moyers wanted to adopt him as his son.

Moyers totally got what he was doing maybe even better than Stewart did and he totally admired him.

11. So totally true. It was touching and enveloping.
His obvious love for Jon showed and his acceptance of him, and he had immersed himself in Stewart's work and was knowledgeable about it in detail.
The show was a fabulous piece of work, and a gift to all of us who love Jon Stewart.

19. As Moyers said, he ends every day watching the Daily Show
He knows his subject well and I think, even sees deeper into what Jon Stewart is about than Jon Stewart even does.

10. Masterful: The entire program built on "Buying the War"
Wednesday's program showed the problem with the U. S. media, and Friday's presented the answer. I didn't know Moyers was also going to have Josh Marshall of TPM. What a bonus!

Bill Moyers is a smart guy who is completely in touch with ordinary people. He has seen the power of the Internet, and he has completely embraced it. I love how he is using it to supplement what he has on his program. Brilliant.

13. "But you are a journalist"
It strikes me that having Bill Moyers tell you over your humble objections that your comedy show is true journalism is like having Stephen Hawking tell you over your humble objections that your crackpot theory of physics makes more sense than the Standard Model. It's not that Jon is doing journalism so much that he is doing something completely new. He probably nails it himself when he says TDS is more like an editorial cartoon. What he should remember is that editorial cartoons sway public opinion, swing elections, and there is a Pulitzer Prize for them for good reason.

14. It isn't just about The Daily Show though Jon is not afraid to say it like it is
Remember how he confronted Tucker on Crossfire? It wasn't much longer and that show was off the air...Jon is a true American Patriot...

16. Yes. That was a great interview. Moyers put up TDS interviews one after the
other and asked Jon what was going through his mind as he got tough or brought up issues. A transcript wouldn't do it justice I'm afraid. You gotta see it replayed somewhere somehow.
