The way things are going, we'll need to draft Al Gore at the Convention
in July. There may be no Dem candidate left standing after the repug media assault (except maybe DK). If they take down Kerry, Edwards looks to be on deck. But he seems like an easy mark for the repugs. The public really dislikes big-money trial lawyers, and he's spent three years in the Senate supporting bush* policies. The repugs have already emptied their barrels on Al Gore. There's not much more they can say about him that they haven't already. Certainly in a rematch, Gore looks like he would be a strong favorite right now.

The recent polls have shown Kerry beating bush*, but Kerry has probably peaked in terms of the public's perception of him. The honeymoon is ending right now. And you have to think that bush* can't sink a whole lot lower in his approval ratings (can he?).

The repugs' ability to control the media and control events will be difficult to overcome. There's no way the repugs come to NYC at the end of August without bringing Osama's head on a plate with them. They'll capture him shortly before the RNC convention and show up in New York for a flag-waving orgy, and a new running mate for bush*--Rudy Giuliani.

1. If Dean drops out,
Al should enter the race. It is, after all, rightfully his office. I fear it's a pipe dream though.

5. I don't think that Dean is going to drop out.
He has incredible strength and integrity.

6. Perhaps..
but he doesn't have the most important thing necessary: votes.

9. I think you're right -
he also has tenacity and courage. I confess I let the barrage of propaganda affect my mood sometimes, but I believe in Dean!

3. Nonsense...
before we start drafting candidates, let's wait and see what this drudge bit is about.

I can't believe how people are getting so damned giddy over this.

7. Kerry has "peaked"?
Based on what? It looks nothing like that, from any vantage point I can think of.

I'm not necessarily a Kerry fan; I just don't understand your logic.

Drudge is nothing.

8. Nothing personal to Kerry, but we need Al Gore to serve the
eviction papers at the White House!
