Blue Buffalo recalls All Wet Food Plus Treats - has unlabeled Rice

Blue Buffalo just announced another expansion of the recall covering:

* All Blue brand can dog foods
* All Spa Select brand can cat foods
* All Blue Health Bar treats.

The release indicates that rice protein was added without their knowledge to these products. Blue Buffalo attributes this to “tampering” by their contract manufacturer American Nutrition, who was connected to several other recalls on Thursday.

1. I switched from

Nutro to Blue Buffalo, then had to switch to Natural Balance. Now I am unsure of what to switch to.

3. PetGuard turkey canned food is okay

I just bought some Wellness dry. So far so good.
I cook fresh turkey for my oldest cat. She was on
Science Diet Prescription K/D. It's not on the recall
list, but like I trust them. Science Diet is made at Menu
Foods and the dry has corn gluten in it. Now I'm holding
my breath and hoping she's okay. Since stopping SD,
she's been spunkier. I feel bad that I ever fed her that
crap.

2. I fed my 14-year-old cat a couple cans of Blue Buffalo a few weeks ago.

She loved it and seems fine, but I'm so sick of this. Every week new revelations are made and more recalls announced. It's all so frustrating. x(
