Who do you favor for Imus' replacement?
David Gregory was the stop-gap guy right after Imus left. Feh .....

I saw Smerkonish ... he's a loser.

Next week they're giving 'Mama' Stephani Miller a shot. I think she'd be just great in this slot.

But ......

I have no one name in mind, but for me, I'd like to see a person of color. Preferably younger, more "urban" (as they love to say), smart, and witty. I have no doubt there are **many** who fit this bill who are currently doing morning or afternoon drive on some single FM station.

As an alternative, a heavyweight establishment person, like Kweisi Mfume.

No way to Sharpton or Jackson.

Anyway, that's me .... what do you think?

4. I hear Rosie O'Donnell will be available in June.
She's always a laugh, and she's certainly progressive. But then again, I never watched/listened to Imus anyway, so perhaps I'm not their target market.

8. I'm hoping they view it as open air to fill and an opportunity .....
.... rather than trying for the same demographic to which Imus appealed.

5. I think they should just keep Mama on!
She's already the best liberal talk-radio host out there, might as well give her her own TV show. :bounce:

She's cute too. I think she would do well on TV. Not your usual "face for radio" deal:)

7. Catherine Crier. Right now listening to her on Court TV - where her talents are wasted. She is as
articulate as Keith. She would do a fine job of having guests and interviewing. I want an interview type program - NOT call-ins.

12. Chris Rock...
he's smart, funny and irreverent in a good way... he's up on the issues and has a great way of presenting his ideas... he did some great interviews on his HBO show, and he ran for President once... only in a movie, of course, but in that movie he ran on a great platform and humorously pointed out some real issues with our country...

...with him being so successful, I seriously doubt he would ever consider it, but he got my vote if he wanted to try it for a while...

:hi:

13. I posted this about Allison Stewart a few days ago (before Mama was getting her shot).
Edited on Thu Apr-26-07 05:13 PM by Pirate Smile
"I wonder if they are letting Allison develop a show for that time.

Her "The Most" is going off the air but she said she isn't leaving.

She could certainly continue to interview media and political big wigs and give them 12-15 minutes which is why they liked going on Imus. She has plenty of music contacts from her days at MTV to keep having some live bands show up occasionally. It would also be good to do after all MSNBC's chatter about giving minorities and women more of an opportunity to get their POV out."

14. She would be an excellent choice
You know she's married to an MSNBC VP, right? Bill Wolf.

I personally think she's among the most talented of the younger crop teevee newzers. She's smart and she can muster loads of gravitas, but with some attitude, when needed.

20. I've seen that before about her hubby. They could release her from the
journalistic straight-jacket and let her throw her personality and views into it.

I liked the extended interviews with the politicians and columnists, etc. I would like for MSNBC to keep that part.

I think she would great and it would be great to have a young, African-American woman with a prime spot on a cable news channel.

15. Tom Joyner maybe? And yes, Mama's gonna be GREAT.
Another favorite who needs work right now is Sam Seder. I'd be happy to get up early to watch any of those three.
