However manager's "errors" are less consequential to the commonweal.

And if they lie, there is more often than not an actual price to pay. :hi:

Finally, the elite members of the press hoisted on their own petard's in the strip above would hate to have to manage at Wendy's, even while the overwhelming majority of us consider it a decent and honest way to make a living.

It's the "honest living" part that they would find beneath them.
