WA Sen Cantwell demands Gonzales resign; Sen. Murray undecided.
Good for Cantwell, who has never been the DINO some DU'ers think she is.
And what's up with Murray?

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/313057_cantwell26.html

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Maria Cantwell on Wednesday demanded that Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez resign, saying his "appalling" firing of former U.S. Attorney John McKay and his evasive testimony have stripped him of his ability to serve effectively.

"I am convinced that Gonzales has not carried out his duties as Attorney General with a blind eye and a balanced hand," Cantwell, a Democrat said in a statement. "He has served as the president's lawyer, not our nation's. Because of this, Alberto Gonzales must resign and the president must accept his resignation immediately."

In asking Gonzalez to resign, Cantwell joins a growing number of other Democrats and Republicans who say he can no longer lead the nation's premier law enforcement agency. Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Wash., called on Gonzalez to resign last month.

A spokeswoman for Sen. Patty Murray, meanwhile, said Murray has not yet demanded Gonzalez's resignation. Spokeswoman Alex Glass said Murray voted against confirming Gonzalez but is waiting until an investigation into the firing of the U.S. attorneys is completed for deciding what action to take.

7. She was NOT in favor of Impeachment
I heard that she even co-erced Jay Inslee in supporting her efforts to supress the citizens of Washington who went to Olympia in regards to initiating the impeachment issue here in Washington State. That said, I support pretty much everything else she has been doing. I get her newsletters each week and they generally are chock full of great things she is working on FOR the citizens of Washington State.

btw I even sent an impeachment request to Dave Reichert as well...never heard back from him for some reason.

8. I contacted Reichart, too. If he's going to be elected by a district
that's increasingly liberal, he better start to listen.

2. What the hell is there to be undecided about?
Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 07:42 PM by fujiyama
The man that remembers nothing, shouldn't be Attorney freakin general...You know that whole thing about remembering things, like past precedents (I didn't see the SNL skit, but someone said, recall the case of "whatshisface v. whatshisface".

Honestly...If you have rabid RWers like Coburn of OK demanding his resignation, we should have UNANIMOUS calls of him stepping down from Dems...

3. You're right. There are only 2 choices: he's incompetent or he's lying.
In either case, he needs to be gone.

5. Now, THAT'S a switch...
Normally, Murray is the one out front on issues, while moderate-wannabe Cantwell is "on the fence."
