Tinfoil hat theory on Kerry's intern.
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:45 PM by aldian159
Got another :tinfoilhat: theory for you:

A Kerry insider launched the attack using Drudge as a unwitting tool. Most people know that Drudge is crap, so when he "broke" the story, everyone chalked it up to sensationalism, because that is Drudge's MO. So, this breaks now, instead of Rove breaking it in October to legit news organizations. You gotta believe Rove knew about it. Hell, according to people on DU, Rove knows all.

So, Rove is pissed he can't use this, and by the time the General rolls around, it will be deader then Austria-Hungary.

Any takers?

1. unfortunately, most people don't know Drudge is crap
he posts so many legit stories that when he posts his own "breaking" news, my bet is that most people don't take the time to realize that it's full of shit.

The only problem with this is that if a Kerry insider launched the attack, then it's most likely true.

I still think it's Lehane being an asshole because he didn't like being fired by Kerry.

4. But if its true, and comes out now
isn't that better then true and coming out Halloween? Give it time to die.

6. It's pretty risky to assume the story will die in less than 7 months
Clinton's sex life haunted him for 8 years.

This is what the rightwingers know how to do well.

2. Better yet
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:49 PM by frisco
The DNC knew all about this and was vetted 4 years ago. They waited until he was in the lead but not a lock to leak this and see if Kerry can withstand the storm. If he can't it's better to find out now than after the convention. Dean could be back in and the talk of a brokered convention favoring Hillary is back. Edwards wins a few, Dean comes back, Kerry wins a few...Hey this is too new for me to make any rational guess so I have the hat on tonight. :tinfoilhat:

The conservatives will come out of the woodwork like termites.

9. I kinda agree
But we need a wounded candidate to re-emerge or else... If the Bush bashing over AWOL and WMDS continues and Hillary gets no negative press because she's not running she comes out fresh.

3. You mean a kind of pre-emptive strike?
Hmmm... Interesting possibility.

5. Kerry would wait until after super tuesday
Less than 25% of the delegates have been decided.

Remember, this nomination is in no way wrapped up.

People have been saying for the last few weeks that Kerry has locked it up UNLESS he stumbles.

I still think the story is crap and that Edwards can win fair and square on Super Tuesday and the week after in Southern Tuesday.

8. Hmmm
Good point, but is a stumble really a stumble if the one who throws the banana peel out there is Matt Drudge, as opposed to a legit news organization? You gotta believe someone with Rove's expertise isn't breaking this now and to Drudge, Rove is breaking it Halloween to TIME. And I don't see another campaign doing it, because that spells backfire with a capital B.

10. And then again, he might have shagged her.
I muse on Gary Hart and his egomaniacal 'bring it on',
number on in the Bring It On Hall Of Fame and think
this could be true. Consider the ego of a person to run
for the POTUS with this in his background. Hart did. It
isn't so far fetched to believe Kerry thought he had it
under control.

Honestly, if it is true, running with this in the background
is shameless and disgusting. I didn't much care for his wife
but I feel oceans of regret and sorrow for her now. If she
truly has said she's going to spend millions to defend her
family, she better open a check book now. Frankly, I would not
put it past Kerry to be this dumb. Does it mean he won't be
a credible president? No. Does it mean he might be a completely
feckless SOB with no consideration for his family? Yes.

As of now, I could never vote for him. He better not be
guilty or I will not be able to vote for him. I cannot bear
years of Kerry's dick after years of Clinton's. And there
are a helluva lot of us out there who feel the same way.

11. Entirely possible
If he did shag her, then it is better for this story to emerge now, run its course, and die, rather then emerge two weeks before the General.

As for you voting for or against him, that's your call, and I'm not gonna insult you and tell you why you should change your mind.
