Clark Democrats for Kerry Check-In
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:31 PM by WillyBrandt
Who made the switch?

I'm having trouble going to johnkerry.com religiously instead of clark04.com, but the transition is going pretty well.

Now I have to learn Kerry's heroism stories as well!

Most importantly: what do I read, do where I hang out? And how can I help John Kerry win?

not too difficult for me. He's a good loyal liberal Democrat and is intelligent and knowledgable.

is https://contribute.johnkerry.com/kerrycore/

Get your kerrycore website up and get to fundraising. The next hill is a capital! A good place to hang with other Kerry supporters is http://www.johnkerry.com/communities/

Bring it on! And and welcome from one Clark supporter to another. Err, I mean Kerry supporter... old habits....

That would make me feel like a traitor. Maybe after our true leader shows his faith and excitement...then I'll feel more like joining in...right now I really have no interest other than just voting for ABB. When I see Clark's name on the ticket...I will jump in...not until. My heart was joined with Wes...I feel nothing for Kerry.

50. You're NOT a Traitor
Our General has always been a pragmatic realist, as well as an idealist. He is demonstrating that by his endorsement of Kerry tomorrow. I am not yet ready to support Kerry as enthusiastically as I supported Clark, of course, but I am ready to support him.

Kerry was my number 1 before Draft Clark. I support Kerry and will vote ABB but, after listening to Clark and learning about him I can't muster the same - shall we say, affection for Kerry that I felt for Clark.

But, what the hell - we HAVE to get bush out of the WH. That's our #1 priority.

candidate for the primaries. I've already blown myself out emotionally on the Clark campaign. I plan to watch the rest of the primaries with a calm detachment.

I'm quite happy to see Kerry get the nomination though, and I will support him enthusiastically in the general election.

Edit: I will also defend him from slanderous crap from Drudge.

31. No, I can't do that in my state
The repukes who run my state took away our primary this year and replaced it with a caucus, which doesn't take place until April. I don't see any way that I could successfully caucus for Clark. If we were having a primary I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

My mom in Syracuse is planning on voting for Clark in her primary.

I'm feeling much better about not having an emotional investment in the outcome of primaries right now. It damned near killed me watching Wes go through the primaries. I expect that things will sort themselves out without my active involvement.

Thanks Jersey:)

I'm here. I've always trusted Wes, though I've had a hard time with Kerry. However, if Wes believes in him, that's enough for me to start learning to believe in him too. It will take some time, but until I learn the ropes, I'll just trust my general.

Wes Clark Democrat, reporting for duty Senator Kerry! *salutes*

It won't be easy, but it WILL be okay.

41. Another Clark Supporter Coming Out for John Kerry
I have no problems with John Kerry. He's a solid liberal (despite unsupported charges of him being "Bush Lite"), and he's been my third choice behind Dennis Kucinich for ages now.

I unfortunately have to face the reality that Dennis is not doing so well, and shows no signs of taking off any time soon. I also believe the reality is that we, as a party, are now better served by coalescing sooner rather than later. Just my opinion; I know that many here disagree, obviously.

General Clark's endorsement is just icing on the cake for me. I am now more hopeful that the General will be Kerry's VP, or at least Secretary of State (he cannot be Secretary of Defense because he has not been out of the military for the requisite number of years).

Senator Kerry now has my vote, and at least some money and volunteer time. The latter two will skyrocket if he picks Clark as VP or announces he will ask Clark to be his Secretary of State (as Bush did with Powell pre-election).

I just wanted to say how much I admire all the Clark supporter's amazing resiliance!

You haven't just taken your ball and gone home. All though ya'll are being spread out amongst the remaining candidates everyone seems to be doing it gracefully.

I hope that if Kerry has to drop out and I have to support another candidate I can do it with as much grace as the Clark supporters have.

And Welcome to the Kerry campaign! :hi:

I'm not on the bandwagon for Kerry specifically. I'll vote for Wes in the IL primary and then go to work hard for the nominee. I'm just going to sit back and watch the process sort itself out for a bit. We'll see how this Kerry "issue" plays itself out, but I don't think I'll be doing any type of active campaigning for anyone until summer, or thereabouts.

Kerry was/is my #2 guy, though, but I'm not ready to be punched in the stomach twice in such a short time frame. Plus, as of today I have ZERO enthusiasm for JK. Let's see if that changes before I head back to the fray - if I do.

Of course, things change if Wes is on the ticket ... :)

67. Finally, here I am
I tried to pretend I was going to remain neutral - hah! But, finally, I understand the gravity of our position and the fight that is ahead. I have been saying for some time that Kerry's nomination is inevitable. I have bought hook, line, and sinker, the idea that we must all pull together to win this thing in November.

Last night, at our local Dem. meeting, I had a man ask me "Do you think Kerry can beat *?" I found myself saying, "Well, we are going to do everything we can to see that he does." And I meant it.

72. Hello From Clark Country...
Hello All,
I've been a lurker for the past few weeks but an active Clark supporter and volunteer since a month or so before he announced. My subject says Clark Country because I'm from Oklahoma and it makes me feel a little bit better that Clark won here before he dropped out.

I supported Kerry before General Clark through his hat in the ring so its not a huge deal for me to support him again. I may not have as much passion for Kerry as I did for Clark but he's a strong Democrat running to dethrone George II and I'm damn sure willing to help anyone who has a credible chance of doing that.

From Clark Country,
I'm Another Clarkie for Kerry!

71. Kudos to General Wes Clark's supporters. They are as classy as he is!
Wes Clark is a good man--a class act--and I respect him and his supporters.

Wes Clark would make a fine Vice President or Secretary of State, altho I wish he could be the Secretary of Defense and clean house at the Pentagon--where way too much of our tax dollars are wasted.
