Giuliani is GOING DOWN! (Rasmussen)
"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that Giuliani’s lead over New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) has disappeared. The former First Lady has closed the gap and pulled to within a single percentage point, trailing just 48% to 47%. Last month, Giuliani had an eight point lead over Clinton. The month before, it was nine points. In fact, Giuliani had been ahead of Clinton in five straight monthly polls dating back to December.

Two other polls released this week show the same slippage for Giuliani. He lost his lead over Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D) and also lost nine percentage points of support in the race for the GOP Nomination. (More Below)"

5. They are always biased, but with that in mind, still useful
If they have Rudy ahead a few points of Hillary, you can bet they are about even. If Rassy says they are even, you can bet your ass that Hillary is now ahead every way you slice it, or they would have found a way to say Rudy maintains a slim lead.

4. Giuliani Will Fade Quickly
Even New Yorkers eventually found Giuliani to be an abrasive asshole. If New Yorkers felt this way about Giuliani, I cannot fathom how Middle America could feel otherwise...

13. Middle America will be pulling for Fred Thompson, should he
jump in.

Our best hope is that, given his health, he won't.

He scares the bejezzuz outta me when compared to our "front-runners."

And Hillary is in a dead heat with him.

7. That dress and wig wearing fool is a joke. He's running for Attorney General.
And that's the truth.

If the GOP nominee wins, he is hoping to deliver HIS base and get, as a prize, either the AG slot, or better still, AMBASSADOR TO ITALY--which is "the" best fucking ambassadorship going, BAR NONE.

Don't believe people when they say the UK ambassador's post is the jewel--it ain't. London can get cold, and it can get expensive, and the food doesn't hold a candle to Italy. Italy is warm, sunny, Rome is the CENTER of the universe, and it's an easy hop from Fumicino to Paris, London, any of the major cities in Europe. It's the perfect mixture of clout and delight--AND, it plays an increasingly important role due to the shit in the ME lately, but not so overwhelming that you can't have some fun, too.

The actual "VERY BEST" ambassadorship is one where you don't do ANY work at all, hardlly--but he doesn't really qualify to be the Ambassador to the Vatican...

8. Seriously, though, if this is accurate, it unhinges the two things
Rudy had going for him in GOPer eyes, and those were his "moderate" appeal to Dems, and his high favorability rating--because they sure as hell don't like his non-conservative record. This will shake out in an interesting way. McCain has hugged the war with both arms like a teddy bear and is in a weakened state, Romney is not well-respected, even though he has the Bush Machine somewhat behind him, Thompson is not gaining ground in early primary states and has cancer AND improper campaign-money use working against him, and Huckabee just does not seem to appeal to conservatives. Who's gonna shake it up???

9. Rudy's run right now is predicated on his ability to win
The more seeds of doubt that are planted in that mindset the quicker Rudy will fall.

Some of us just don't live in blue-bubble land.
