WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney, often called upon to deliver the administration's toughest talk about the wars abroad, now says this about the threat of terrorists detonating a nuclear bomb in a U.S. city: "It's a very real threat ... something that we have to worry about and defeat every single day."

Cheney's warning about what he thinks is at stake for the United States if it withdraws from Iraq - delivered in a television interview Sunday and coupled with a speech in Chicago on Friday and a war statement that President Bush plans to make today - is part of an escalating chorus of pressure that the White House hopes to exert on Democrats to approve a new war-spending bill.

...

But the administration's underlying argument for the combat in Iraq is that it is central to a global war against terrorism. Bush has repeatedly attempted to attach the Iraq conflict to a threat of terrorism at home.

...

Sept. 11, 2001, "did have, I think, a remarkable impact on the threat to the United States on what we were required to deal with as an administration," Cheney said.

"The fact is that the threat to the United States now of a 9/11 occurring with a group of terrorists armed not with airline tickets and box cutters, but with a nuclear weapon in the middle of one of our own cities is the greatest threat we face," he said. "It's a very real threat. It's something that we have to worry about and defeat every single day."

8. yeah, I have nightmares, they're never going
to leave the White House. They'll pull a ridiculous stunt and we'll be stuck in some kind of lock down.
Of course, it really helps having to waste time fighting with the agitators here, who can turn a nail into a pretzel!

11. From what country? Who has the delivery power? I don't think
there are any nations other than Russia who have delivery power. If he is talking a dirty bomb it is just as likely that some homegrown nut will do that as some foreigner.

12. Yeah, what's your name? Dick Cheney?
Yeah, Dick Cheney, SHUT UP!

Why don't you take your Halliburton profits, your lesbian daughter who you allow your fellow party members to condemn, your shotgun aimed at your best friend, your PNAC brotherhood who couldn't predict the sun rising in the east without getting it wrong, your reiteration of links between Iraq and 9-11 (no matter HOW MANY TIMES that story has been debunked), your metallic heart, your lyin' mouth and your greedy corporate-lovin' ass, and and shove them up an undisclosed location ...

... with all DUE respect.

16. That tub-of-lard has been on my last nerve ...
... since the day he was sworn-in (with his fingers crossed behind his back).

THIS should be the new IQ test by which all Americans' intelligence is assessed: Do you believe a SINGLE GOD-DAMNED THING DICK CHENEY HAS EVER SAID?

If the answer is "yes', you are automatically deemed to be mentally incompetent.

14. If a terrorist sneaks a nuke into the US, it will probably be due to
Bushco not securing the ports. The ports have repeatedly been cited as an area of weakness and poor secutity, but instead of fixing the problem, Cheney and Dumbya sell off ports to foreign-owned companies out of Dubai.

But in the meantime, :scared: FEAR! :wow: FEAR! FEAR! :patriot: FEAR!

creeped out by those spine-tingling Laura Bush public service announcements urging people to prepare for disaster? It's almost like they are planning something and giving us a heads up, and if we haven't prepared, oh well.

18. old dickie....
....is just misunderstood...

'a nuclear bomb in a U.S. city: "It's a very real threat ... something that we have to worry about and defeat every single day."'

....right-on, that's just dickies' way of trying to be helpful and earning his keep....actually, I'm looking forward to more dickie tips, like, 'be afraid, a huge meteorite will eventually crash into our planet'....

....or, 'be afraid, Republicans might get elected to public office in 2008', or, 'be very afraid, you'll get terminal-chafe if you don't change your underwear daily'....

....all very good advice....

21. Noble Resolve 07????
Edited on Mon Apr-23-07 10:41 AM by windbreeze
http://tinyurl.com/ynq8oq from GlobalResearch.ca

Four days of "simulated" nuclear terrorist scenarios from April 23 to April 27th....

From April, 23 to April 27, the elite echelon of the military are running Noble Resolve 07, a four-day marathon of “simulated” terror attacks across the US and Europe. This includes a simulated detonation of a “loose” ten-kiloton nuclear weapon Virginia harbor, smuggled in by a “foreign nation.”

This week Dick Cheney has also been warning of the “very real” threat of a nuclear attack on an American city. Could the Nobel Resolve drills be used as a screen for a false-flag attack to be blamed on Iran, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, or sheep-dipped Americans like Adam Gadahn?

The drills are being run by Joint Task Force Command (JTFCOM), Northern Command (NORTHCOM), J9 Joint Innovation and Experimentation Directorate, FEMA’s command bunker, the Department of Homeland Security, and Virginia police.

snip

It is important to note the “Nobel Resolve” drills are dominated by NORTHCOM, the branch of “homeland defense” based in Colorado and responsible for shutting down the United States under martial law, as well as ushering in the merger of the US, Canada, and Mexico via the SPP.

I really suggest you read the entire article at the link, I found it all very interesting, considering all the subtle little innuendos other people are giving out...I have been watching, but haven't seen this article posted on DU........what I find interesting, as one poster on this thread pointed out...is Cheney speaking about possible nuclear attacks on our soil...thinking about 9/11, and the exercises that were taking place that day, gives me a creepy feeling...
