4 sale ON E-Bay: VINTAGE FUR COAT AMAZING BABY HARP SEAL FUR - SO SOFT!

It has been illegal in the US to even own a seal coat according to Captain Watson it is "a violation of the 1972 Marine Mammal Protection Act to possess let alone to sell a seal coat in the U.S.

3. I agree. I didn't look at the ad, but it well may be from the 1930's!
I've got several things that are legal ONLY BECAUSE they were made before a certain date.

5. What are you going to report? That someone clubbed a seal to death eighty years ago?
Maybe the person just wants to get rid of the thing and needs the money, and figures get rid of this 'offensive' item? You don't sell something by putting it down, after all.

You'd better be sure you're correct in your interpretation of the law before you start raining shit down on some slob selling an antique...my understanding is the WHITE coats are prohibited to sell, but once they grow out of their white coat, it is a different story... and that coat ain't white...

But I'm no expert. All I'm saying is you'd best check your facts first.

6. Anyone who wears leather shoes can't criticize.
Hate to lay it out like that but its true.

I'd like to see the seal hunt reformed but this coat is, as stated, vintage. You wouldn't catch me wearing fur (partly because I think it looks dumb, YMMV) but whats dead is dead and whats soft is soft I suppose.

7. Sweet, cuz I don't wear leather, and I would feel like an a$$h#le wearing seal fur.
I am not sure how cows are killed to make leather, but there is no way it is as brutal as clubbing seals.

8. Pretty much the same way - stunned in the head
you can use the hides of many species to make leather, with cattle, pigs and horses it is generally more of a by-product than the main reason for slaughter.
