Our society is not a nation of hand-wringing cowards. Sure, we have some chicken-pluckers here and there, but their main fear is a loss of income more than loss of life and limb. How can you take a nation to war with over half the population opposed to it and expect any sense of unity?

Shrub sends young teens just out of high school to pay the ultimate price, although he did not when his opportunity was there.

If our nation is so fragile that we cannot protect ourselves from anarchists and terrorists, then we lack the resolve of a determined, free people. This president and his pathetic followers are literally cowards. If our nation has a problem with our borders and security, then it needs to be dealt with here. My own conscience tells me that our young soldiers need to come home for a much needed rest, and we, the people, should eagerly await the terrorists who "follow them here" (BushCo talking point) so that we can justifiably unite to remove them from this earth.

Mr President, if you are afraid to fight terror, then let our citizens fight them HERE on our turf. Lord knows we are armed enough.

2. That is why we need to be more explicit

in our points. We have the high ground. The Bush Crime Family and the Rethugs supporting them are the cowards and the traitors. We welcome any fight in defense of our homeland, our territories, and our people. If terrorists wish to do us harm, then allow our citizenry the opportunity that we gratefully accept and desire to show them what freedom requires. Let them see unity of purpose in our own defense, rather than the national disgrace of preemptive wars of hostile occupation that yields more enemies with every passing day.

And as for the Sunnis and Shia, they want to stay in Iraq and fight for power, not come here.

8. I know that, ginny

It is a new response to a tired, lame argument. There is a dire need to expand the discourse and force the Republicans to expose their true cowardice in facing the problems presented by the world and the environment. We have a huge problem with meeting our energy needs. Rather than confronting the problem by reducing our dependence or having to resolve political differences with oil rich Mideast Arab nations, this Republican regime targeted the weakest nation to steal oil fields. But rather than uncap the some 70 oil fields in Iraq, most remain capped and will remain capped to keep prices per barrel up, particularly for Bush's Saudi Arabian family friends and his buds in Big Oil in Texas and Oklahoma.

You know as well as I do that Bush not only intends to keep our forces in Iraq, but it was the Bush/Cheney grand plan to put them there in the first place, well before 9/11, and to build permanent bases and stay there to protect their interests long-term. At least, that is my conjecture after reading and watching events unfold since they seized power in Jan 01.
