Poll question: IF DK does not get the nomination
IF DK does not get the nomination (please, no flames) would he be able to do more good by continuing as a Congressman, or by accepting a Cabinet post?

3. In Congress he's one of 535.
As the head of an agency HUD say, or Labor he would have a full department to answer to him.

6. In Congress he is co-chair of the progressive caucus
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 07:35 PM by goodhue
and is free to lead on progressive issues.
I don't think he would give that up to be head of Labor or HUD.
He would be an excellent in any number of positions if he were able to call the shots. He is not one to comprimise his values.

4. Secretary of State, of course.
With his belief in real diplomacy and negotiation, America would once again become respected around the world, IF WE CAN RESTRAIN THE PRESIDENT FROM CONTINUING THE OCCUPATION, ADDING TWO MORE DIVISIONS TO THE ARMY FOR WAR PURPOSES, AND LETTING AMERICAN COPORATIONS AND MULTI-NATIONALS RAPE THE WORLD....

WHOOPS...better just vote for and contribute to Dennis' campaign the first time.

8. I think I'd much prefer him to remain in
Congress if he isn't the Nominee. We're going to need serious progressive voices in there with all the damned redistricting the Republicans have pulled. He's virtually assured to keep his seat, and oh yeah, just a heads up...

If he isn't the 2004 nominee WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS!

15. With all due respect to the good Kucitzens of Ohio
Dennis is *desperately* needed at the National level.

Ohio had their chance, and will just have to groom someone else to be as good as Dennis.

There, I said it. :)

17. You're almost right...
We have to groom people all over the country to be as good as Dennis!
North, South, East and West.

:)

Would you be happy if we sent him to you as a US Senator? I think we can do it.

You mean *me*, personally? YOU BET!!

Ship him to me, ASAP. I'd love to have that scrappy little fighter in my corner!

Oh, you didn't me to *me* personally... ~~sobble~~ :)

Dennis would be great as a Senator. That will give me something to think about.. what committees he should be on.

But, in the meantime, I'll still hold on to hope of him occupying the White House.

As long as he doesn't have it painted blue. ~~gigglesnort~~

Can you imagine what this country would be like if we had a whole bunch of Dems like Dennis? The thought boggles.

11. Assuming he would have some policy control, cabinet
He is a great member of the progressive caucus, but he could do a lot as a labor secretary. Our current secretary is a bleeding joke.

18. I voted for a cabinet post...
..I had something like Labor in mind, he could be a very effective Secretary of Labor like Robert Reich was in the first Clinton Administration.

What would be REALLY cool though (this was not one of the choices) would be GOVERNOR of Ohio.

20. As someone else said...
I think it'd be cool to have a real liberal in any cabinet position. The last real liberal was probably Riech.

Kucinich would make a great Sec. of Labor, or Interior, or hell for that matter, sec. of state.

21. I want RFKjr for Interior, Gep Labor, Kucinich - Commerce?
isn't it the Commerce Dept. that deals the most with trade?

But I think maybe Congress would be better for him where he would have more of an independent voice.

23. I prefer Congress, but the appropriate Cabinet
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 03:19 AM by Kanary
would be whatever they're now calling "Health Educaton and Welfare". With his proposals and expertise in Education and Health Care, he would be perfect, and he would be a great advocate for poor folk.

However, I wouldn't want to see the fella locked in a cabinet, :) so..... Congress or Senate is great. Just wish he had more company there.

Good question....
