Will Bush jump the shark with his planned photo op to VT today
First a :grr:

Nowhere Bush can go without the massive traffic and security jam he causes, and if he goes to VT today on a day of mourning IMHO this will piss off a lot of on the wallers.

Also if there is a TV camera on him, you just know he will bring up Iraq and how the Dems are hurting the troops over there. :grr:

1. He jumped a school of them already
with his latest canned speech about meeting with the Dems, not setting artificial time tables, how the terrists will follow us home if we leave now, etc etc blah blah blah. It's so predictable it isn't even fun to make fun of him anymore.

I'm waiting for the meltdown when this twerp finally figures out he ain't gettin his way on the troop withdrawal question and throws the mother of all temper tantrums in front of god 'n' everbody. I'd pay money for that. I envision lots of crying for mommy and being escorted off stage in a straight jacket, restrained by four burly dudes.

3. Geraldo called him......
"The Nations Healer-In-Chief". I almost threw up. That's what I get for being curious as to how Faux News is spinning the details of this horrible tragedy.

5. Disgusting - Rivera's comment
What a disgusting piece of garbage out of the mouth of garbage wrapped in skin.

8. Can't he outsourse that job?
Like the war czar, can't he look for a Mourning/Healing Czar? He could send the job to one of the call center countries where they could call the bereaved and offer condolences.

6. I wonder how many parents will be denied access to service.
I wonder how many parents and other family members of the students who were shot won't be allowed to attend the service because the security detail etc. takes up too much room.
I wonder if admission will be based on bumper stickers as in other events.

Will he go there, have his picture taken and then leave before the service is over?

Bush offered a ride on Air Force One to Governor Kaine. It is about the same distance from Richmond north to Andrews (to catch flight) as it is to go west to Blacksburg.

11. Where, pray tell, will Air Force One be flying into ?
Is Roanoke the closest? They'll have to shut down I-81, which will piss off the truckers for sure.

If he MUST go, at least take the helo and put it down on the drill field which I'm sure is already secure and full of the media.

When he came to Norfolk for a fundraiser, they closed the airport and several major roads along his motorcade route. Screwed up the area for HOURS.

9. I was bewildered to hear that he going.
Not because he is usually awol at large tragedies (which he is), but because I don't really see how his appearance is appropriate. It is a huge horrible tragedy, but I don't really view it as a national tragedy, not in the sense that it is a war or a natural disaster. I can only see his presence as a photo op to show that he should still be considered important.
