Richardson Reports Raising $6.25M At End Of First Quarter

WASHINGTON -- Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Richardson has raised
$6.25 million at the end of the first quarter, according to finance reports
he filed on Sunday with the Federal Election Commission.

That could be a surprising showing for the New Mexico governor considering
a late start and a legislative session that his campaign said occupied much
of his time.

His campaign said he has $5 million cash on hand.

3. He's got a little momentum going

He's getting a nice bounce in the monthly Kos strawpoll. The first four primaries don't really play to his strengths though. The only one in his region of the country is pretty atypical of his region (Nevada). If he can get to Mega-Tuesday he has a chance to compete, at least regionally.
