For those who support progressive taxation

here is an article by George Lakoff from the Huffington Post. I think he makes some good arguments that you can use when discussing these issues with family and friends. Personally, I believe that everything that I have, including my ability to earn a living, is a gift and I have no problem paying taxes to help those less fortunate than I am. See what you think:

Thanks for posting. One point he made in the article was particularly good: he sums up very nicely the fact that the rich do derive more benefit from a healthy, stable society than do the poor, and gave the reasons for that. That has long been my favorite argument against flattening the tax structure, and he defined that argument better than I ever could.
