WASHINGTON - Back when another president was beset by political difficulties, the question arose: Could a president be impeached for a non-criminal offense, for conduct that was perfectly legal?

The answer from one observer was yes, and the example given was if a sitting president decided to move to Paris and perform his duties from there by teleconferencing.

President Bush is in no danger of impeachment. There may have been a few zany Democrats who proposed it, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had them replaced by body doubles.

But he is beset by political difficulties. As Bush told the audience at a recent Washington dinner, “A year ago, my approval rating was in the 30s, my nominee for the Supreme Court had just withdrawn and my vice president had shot someone. Ahhh, those were the good old days.”

1. I think Bush thrives on screwing things up, getting people angry at him, then ...

showing them the finger. Bush has never had to answer for his behavior. It gives him a feeling of power. He knows he can*t earn people's respect through his accomplishments because of his lack of intellect, so he gets his feeling of control by showing them he is the boss, despite his ineptness.

I don't think he gives a flying fuck, as long as he can use booze & cocaine, take alot of vacation, have have a bunch of people around who say "yes, sir! Great idea sir! Funny stuff, sir!" to whatever comes out of his mouth.
