1. Doubt it.
He's damaged goods. It would go to Edwards instead. Mercifully. Edwards would make a considerably better GE candidate.

2. Why would someone who is getting the nomination drop out?

5. For the good of the Party and the country
Should *something* come out that could mortally wound the Kerry campaign, I'd expect the Party to rally behind Clark as the nominee. The only real trouble comes in if Kerry is derailed before he gets across the delegate threshold. Clark could possibly re-enter the race should that happen, though.

National security experience is mandatory this Fall. (even if it's just the perception of it, as in the case of Kerry)

3. Yes. That's exactly what's going to happen. Kerry drops out over
something posted on Drudge about a private affair which is more than likely not true despite the fact that he's won most of the primaries so far and then the candidate who has won none of the primaries is given the nomination.

What the hell happened to Edwards?

4. I would be very surprised if Kerry ever dropped out, even if they
caught him in bed with the AP intern. He would fight it out and in the end still have a shot at Bush.

If he does quit or get driven out, well then, it becomes Edwards v Dean.

At that point people will start looking up Wes Clark's phone number on their PDA's...

6. No. Dean is finished
But I suspect it would set of chaos rather than an automatic win for anybody. Maybe that's what the Pubs are trying to accomplish.

9. Edwards will, and should anyway
Clark screwed him up all last week, and now he's got the death-rattle of the Dean campaign to overcome. Meanwhile, the "gosh, everyone else thinks Kerry's great" mindset rules the day.

Kerry's a good guy, but he's NOWHERE near as electable as Edwards.

12. Absolutely!
Dean's outstanding campaign and brilliant oration make him a lock. In fact, he's going to win whether Kerry drops or not.
