Dear NBC...SHUT UP
All of this hooey about Imus was fired because Al Roker was upset is stupid. You were fine with Imus's remarks as you first suspended him for only two weeks. It was not until all the corporations started pulling out did Capus fire him. You were quick to fire Donahue because you were (afraid) of losing advertisers not because he was upsetting NBC employees.
Imus should have been fired immediately, NBC stuck there finger in the air and then reacted. So just SHUT UP with this crap that employees were upset when half your employees faces are on the Imus show. So stop patting yourselves on the back. You didn't fire Imus because it was the right thing to do, you fired him because it was the financially right thing to do.

3. Well, it isn't so much that NBC did the right thing (finally)...
the bright spot is that the corporate sponsors did the right thing, as well as several key employees. In the end, sometimes the system works, even with unwilling participants, like NBC.

4. Dear NBC, stop using this Imus bullshit (and it IS bullshit) as an excuse to NOT talk about
Alberto Gonzales, Obstructor of Justice.

The War in Iraq, with bombs going off in the Green Zone and under vehicles and Iraqi legislators as well as our troops dying left and right.

RNC Emails going missing, and the crimes involved with that shit.

And that is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg.....

5. NBC still doesn't get it.
Night after night we have been subjected to the network's pasty white men discussing the issues.

Since the sexist aspect of the comments are just as compelling as the racist comments why don't they have panels of their female newscasters? Could it be because they don't have any. Females are the majority of the population in this country but you would never know it from looking at the talkers on NBC/MSNBC.

For God's sake it is 2007 and still no females to put on the air to have a legitimate discussion - instead we are subjected to opinions of men who don't have a clue what they are talking about. NBC has gone to a lot of trouble to talk mostly about the race issue and avoid the gender issues. Jackson and Sharpton speak to both issues when they are on the air but the moment it returns to the studio pimps the gender issue is dropped. By the way, where are the liberal white male leaders who will stand up and say that sexism in the 21st century is just wrong across the board?

I am much more angry about the manner in which NBC has focused the issue entirely on race as much as they possibly can then about what they did or didn't do to Imus.

The result - I have to assume that it is still ok to be sexist on the public airways.

7. Exactly - it is always about Money in the Greedy USA!
Imus is not the problem as he is a symptom of the problem. People like Imus, Limbaugh, Colter, Pat Robinson, rappers, etc. just pit people against each other so the Corporations can keep on running things and taking all our money. People need to ban together against the Corporate elite which includes the frontrunners running for President. I'm really fed up with our system as we can work ourselves to death for Hillary, Obama or whoever and I guarantee you if they win their inaugural party will not include us. It will be all the stars from Hollywoood or big business moguls. This should all be done away with and just have a picnic or something on the White House lawn with the real people of the country, but it will never happen because these people are drunk with power and they love being coddled by big whigs!
