Imus show called for Kucinich decapitation

Off with his head.
That's what Don Imus sidekick Bernard McGuirk suggested be done to Cleveland Democrat Dennis Kucinich in March 2006, according to a progressive activist and blogger who says he complained about it at the time, to no avail.
McGuirk and Imus like to spice their popular radio show with inflammatory, insulting language, as they demonstrated when using racist insults to describe the high-achieving Rutgers University women's basketball team. Now they're in trouble, and calls are cascading to pull the plug on the Imus program rather than slap their wrists with a two-week suspension.
A joke about Kucinich, who puts himself and his unorthodox ways out for the public to behold, applaud and/or criticize, is a whole different matter. Still, South Carolina-based blogger/activist Michael O'McCarthy didn't think it was appropriate. According to O'McCarthy's letter of complaint last year, shared today with Open, here is what McGuirk said about the congressman from Cleveland:
Dennis Kucinich should have his "head sawed off" like they do over in Iraq.
