Why endorse someone who you think will implode? I don't know what to believe! This intern thing smacks of Rove's trickery.

5. Well don't believe Drudge or Kos or Sterling
If it was from a legitimate source, it might be worth pursuing. But it isn't. So don't believe it.

6. I don't think he made the statements about Kerry.
It seems unlike his character to do something like that. I won't believe it unless he confirms it.

11. Suppose he did say those things
Unless he knows they aren't true, I still don't see why he'd endorse someone who could "implode." Why would he want to be associated with that? It appears more and more likely Drudge was fooled on this.

endorse a man who could "implode"? That's my question.

21. Here's a quote from Drudge himself, and this is why I don't believe him...
"Screw journalism! The whole thing's a fraud anyway!"
- Matt Drudge

17. IF he said it, I think it sends a strong message to Lehane to get lost
Again, if the story is true in the sense that Clark made the off the record statement (which by the way, if it's off the record, why do we know about it??) then one can assume that Lehane told Clark about the alleged story.

If Lehane told Clark about the story, then Clark was man enough not to run with it and Lehane must have known Clark wouldn't have approved of this strategy. Lehane was getting his paycheck from Clark so he had to shut his trap.

Now that Clark is out of the race though, Lehane has nothing to lose by retaliating against the man who fired his sorry ass. Lehane has a proven track record of playing nasty and Kerry was right to get rid of him. But now that Clark is endorsing Kerry, I think it undercuts Lehane's ridiculous story so now (hopefully) it's much ado about nothing.

The story will be dealt with.

I'm not so sure this didn't come from Dean, considering his murder-suicide mission lately.

19. Maybe that's why Clark is endorsing

Clark may be offering an edorsement to kill this story BEFORE it gets started.

Thats is, assuming that it's all bullshit in the first place. I can't imagine that Clark would try to cover anything up. The man is too much of a straight shooter.

We'll see what Clark says on Inside Politics after the commercial break ;-)

One thing is for certain. Clarks candidacy is over, but he is sticking around to hammer Bush. He no longer has to stay "above the fray". So he can finally "look into the AWOL issue" and lay into Bush without looking negative.

My, My....isn't Drudge clever? He slimes Kerry and Clark on the same day he hears the buzz that Clark is endorsing Kerry.
