Feb 5, 2008: Our next president will be chosen by a TINY minority of our citizens
How many people vote in primaries? Not a hell of a lot, really.

How many people will vote in the Democratic primaries in the Supermegamaxisplendiferous Primary states next February 5? An even smaller number than the overall number of primary voters, to be sure.

I sincerely believe that our next president will be the Democrat, whoever it is. (Why I think this is subject for another post, not this one).

For all the media hype surrounding this election cycle, our next president will be chosen by an historically, and embarassingly, tiny number of our citizens.

Note to Al Gore and Wesley Clark (and any other non-announced hopeful) supporters: Get your guy in now or miss the train's leaving the station.

1. Those who do not vote have no right to complain about the decision made by those who do
Voting is a right that every American has and for those who do not exercise their rights do not deserve the privilege of complaining about the choices of those who vote.
If you want to make a difference, get involved

2. I usually don't vote primary...
... because I usually register independant. But I will reg. dem. this round, because I want the chioce of who we send to the general election. Fortunately I'm now living in a liberal/paper ballot area, so I feel a little more secure about my vote not getting tossed because of party affiliation.

5. 3M voted in the CA 2004 primary & 600K voted in NY when the race was over.
Compare that to the supposed biggest plum after the initial 3 usually, Michigan.

About 200K voted in 2004 and that was when MI was a huge factor.

I am optimistic that voter turnout in some of these large states will be up simply because their primary votes will be a factor.
