Poll question: Which Presidential candidate would you prefer to run for VP?
I assume that most peoples' second choice for President will end up on the list, although one consideration is whether you'd want this person to run for president in 2016. Another is whether they would actually WANT the running mate position (and here I have my doubts about both Edwards and Clinton.)

Al Gore is not on this list, for obvious constitutional reasons.

1. Richardson is going to be high on every candidates list for veep.
He brings a lot of utility to a ticket.

I think Dodd would be a great choice as well.

Not for a second consecutive time.

4. I agree - NEVER.

He's happy right where he is.

If General Clark doesn't run, I'd love to see him link up with Richardson, Edwards, or Obama.

If Clark doesn't wish to be VP ... Former VA Governor Mark Warner (if he's not tied up in a U.S. Senate race by then) will be on everyone's vetting list also.

(I don't know why DU'ers keep putting the same names on these VP possibilities polls? There's a lot of potential out there -- think outside the box!!!)

5. Obama
I think that Barack Obama is a wonderful guy but I hesitate supporting him because of his lack of experience. I really want our next president to be someone who I feel confident can clean up the mess that Bush and the Republicans have made.

My first choice is Al Gore. I'm also beginning to like Bill Richardson quite a bit.

Obama as a running mate for a wonkish candidate like Gore or Richardson would be great. Edwards would be also quite good but I doubt he'd want to be a running mate again after his experience in 2004.
