There Is No Room In The Race This Year For Adulterers
I want to be perfectly clear. I like Kerry. I have been very comfortable with him as the potential nominee. I think he has improved a lot over the course of the primaries (mostly due to Deans fire)

BUT - BUT - BUT

*IF* He pulled some stupid shit like cheating on his wife at a time he would have KNOWN that NOT ONLY were the Repukes going to be watching him like a hawk, but ALSO his Democratic rivals for the nomination - He is a complete weak willed IDIOT - Just like Clinton was when he couldn't keep it in his pants for a few years - even KNOWING the Reich wing was salivating at the prospect of him slipping.

We have no room in our party this year for people as stupid as this.

YES - It is NOBODY'S business - YES - It is irrelevant - and YES it *will* sink his ass.

As popular as Clinton was - by the end 'Clinton Fatigue' had become very real - and Clinton has no one to blame but himself for feeding the Repuke witch hunters the red meat they were looking for.

If the allegations about Kerry are true (I'm not convinced they are by any stretch) - Then he just handed Rove an incredible gift. We can not have people like that as our nominee this year. It won't work.

1. I don't think this has legs
A drudge article is basically worthless, I don't see it on any of the networks.

3. Good enough for Lewinsky. Good enough for Limbaugh.
Why not good enough now? We are all, myself included, doing backflips that day, and sources like Drudge and the Enquirer broke the Rush is a JUNKIE! story. Why not now?

Later.

13. True
It can't automatically be dismissed out of hand, but Drudge has often been wrong, too.

9. Drudges comments include that it's being investigated by the networks..
that's why we haven't seen anything on it. It is a current situation, if the woman is 23 now? Then, if LeHane knew about it.. supposedly back in 2000, she would have been 20? Kerry himself needs to clear this up. This was unrelated to the stuff between marriages. We all discussed that stuff weeks ago. How many people have dated before the divorce was final, but after the separation? That's normal stuff. This story is different... I believe it is while he was married to Teresa, that's why it has legs today.

Kerry needs to address this pronto. I can't stand to watch another Democrat taken down this way. Grrrr...

14. So was Poppy
I think this is part of what emboldened the GOP freaks. When Poppy was approached about his affair with a servant, he just shut it down. Won't answer it...nah gunna do it. And amazingly -- or thankfully -- the press dropped it like a hot potato(e).

Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit, unless you have a plan B.

What is it, allowing Bush another four years? You don't think Rove has amassed a treasure trove on EVERY candidate?

Maybe Janet's boob and this come at a good time for America, because it is damned well time we, as a culture, GROW UP and quite obsessing about boobies and pee-pees!

18. Kerry has Anger Management Issues?
But of course, you are speaking of Dean. Dean does not have anger-managment issues, but he has been portrayed like that in the press, so you believe it.

There is no proof that Dean has anger-management issues except for the whispers of political pundits.

12. If this is a lie he needs to sue Drudge, but if this turns out to be true,
the american voters will not vote for someone who has a sex scandal attached to him. they supported Clinton thru impeachment, but grew sick and tired of it all.

they will not vote to go thru this crap again.

That's exactly right - People mistake the people sticking by Clinton once he was already president - with people choosing to go through it again.

Everybody remembers that nightmare and nobody wants to relive it.

26. Forgot Gennifer Flowers, did you? /nt
What people got sick and tired of was the Starr investigation. That's why the '98 election went the way it did. Which in turn is why the Republicans in the Senate swept impeachment under the carpet so quickly.

17. May cost Kerry, but not for the reasons you've stated
IF (and that's a big if) there is anything to these allegation, then it may cost Kerry the nomination. Not because "there's no room in the party" for people that make mistakes, but because beating Bush is absolutely critical.

If there is a cost to Kerry because of this rumor, then people will move to Edwards as a "fallback position" because people want the strongest possible candidate to ensure we throw Dumbya out on his head. Beating Dumbya is priority #1, and all other consideration are subordinate to that.

23. It's not about sex. It's about perception.
Far too many Americans have forgotten Vietnam and it's horrors. Far too many have been inundated with revisionist history about it's being a noble cause defeated by timid politicians and traitorous protestors.

But, most Americans do remember the endless revelations about Bill & Jennifer, Bill & Monica, etc, and the impeachment and Bill's weaseling around it. (Note: I don't give a rip about Bill's sex life - but I was appalled that he didn't just tell the press that his sex life was his business and that he wouldn't answer any questions about it).

If true, and if Kerry can't find the backbone to stand up to the media, he's sunk. Either as nominee or, worse, as candidate.

It never fails to amaze me that politicians think they can get away with this kind of thing.

27. Puh-leeze. Women in California elected Ahnuld the Gropinator! Surprise!
The threshhold for rejecting a politician on marriage issues has gone way up since the Gary Hart years.

It is still red meat for the Fundamentalist base that W's people are desperately trying to hold onto by distracting from his own morality issues.

The public is concerned about basic survival-jobs, medicine, food, war.

28. THIS IS A TRAVESTY!
How can so many here attack Kerry for this? Is it your business what goes on in his sex life? If he wants to fuck some girls who work for him, then that's none of my goddamn business.

It's not like he harassed women and groped them like the Gropinator.

If the sheeple will elect an idiot who says stupid shit like "a pump is better than coming" and who gropes uninterested women, then why does everyone here expect the public to support Bush over Kerry for such a trivial issue.

I HATE Kerry, but let's not sink to this level people!

29. We dont' know that it's true.
This is how it works. Drudge, unlike major news outlets, does not hesitate to publish rumors without doing any investigation himself, particularly if the subject of the rumor is a liberal or democrat. This rumor, completely unattributed to any source, is now being talked about on all the right wing shows (Hannity et al.), and no doubt all over Fox news (the "Right Wing Echo chamber" technique). Even if it turns out to be completely false (and Drudge is wrong a significant percent of the time), Kerry will be tarred by the association and suffer a negative hit. Probably Rove lashing out after the pasting shrub has taken the last week or so. They are not used to being on the defensive.

Wrong.
The infidelity attack has no legs.

America is desensitized to the issue and pretty much assumes all politicians have affairs.
