Are Some Upset At Not Getting A War
Does anyone think that some of the criticism of the British troops that is now coming to surface is just coming from people who are angry that war was adverted? I am of the opinion that the people that are now denouncing the British Marines and Saliors are just angry that the actions of the troops may have helped prevent a war that they were hoping for. Also, I think some people are angry about the gift bags the troops were given because it prevents President Ahadmenejhad from looking like the monster they wanted to make him out to be. From what I can tell only one person who was held as a captive has spoken out against the troops. It seems like the other people who are criticizing them are just people who were in the military for a few years. So what do others think?

2. The Brits took one for the team...
...and the rest of us should be kissing their ass for it.

We needed another Gulf of Tonkin like a fucking hole in the head.

We don't have the capacity to fight a war in Iran too and neither do the Brits.

4. That Fox Neocon and WH Megaphone has
been blasting forth. My God, you would think the poor
sailors were traitors. They forget that Britain is
not at war with Iran. They are doing their best to
get out of Iraq. Their drawdown is well underway.
Since Britain is not at war with Iran the sailors
were not held to wartime standards. To expect those
15 lightly armed sailors to start a battle with a
humongous heavily armed Iranian warship right there upon them
is a stretch. You are asking them to commit suicide
and stir up an International Incident. Yes the
grumbling --they want an opportunity to explain we
are already at war with Iran as we battle in Baghdad.

This is why --when we start withdrawinag from Iraq,
about 50,000 troops will remain Baghdad for decades.

We have to keep Iran from gaining more power in Iraq.
The Middle East maintained Stability by using Saddam
to check or contol Iran from gaining too much power.
We toppled Saddam. Now we have to keep iran in check.

6. I wouldn't recommend Tony as president, but yes even he's better than Bush
And yes, I do suspect that some macho types are disappointed at not getting another glorious war. Who needs diplomacy?
