What $120 million can buy
Sorry if this topic was covered extensively. But as the numbers came in with a total of $120 mil raised by all the candidates, I could not help thinking of children and adults who lack access to health care, hungry children and adults. The poor and the elderly who could get more decent meals..

Instead we will get PR firms and TV stations and newspapers and direct mail companies rich promoting the candidates.

1. That amount was nothing when compared to W's tax cut for the richest

It's chump change, in fact, in comparison.

2. The big bucks corporate interests just pass the $ around among each other.
The little people won't see a penny of that $120 million. Even though quite a bit came from little pockets.

We need publicly funded elections NOW.

4. I share your sentiment. And we need a major overhaul to the process.

5. Thanks. And not to judge of "who is winning"
by the amount of cash they raised.

Yesterday someone asked what would a candidate do with the money if s/he is not the winner... I think that they can keep it.
