Democratic Candidates The Media Aren't Telling You About [Part 2]
Huffington Post

A continued look at the underdogs of the Democratic presidential field.

Part 1 of this article ran yesterday and examined Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, and Mike Gravel.

Inadvertently omitted from yesterday's article were statistics for the frontrunners, for your comparison. Money: Hillary Clinton, $26 million; John Edwards, $14 million; Barack Obama, $25 million. Washington Post mentions: Hillary Clinton, 139; John Edwards, 56; Barack Obama, 101.

1. The mention of Dennis deserves reposting here...
His "Issues" page has 90 links to position papers by Kucinich -- far more than any other candidate's website I have ever seen. Click on almost any of them, and you'll find yourself agreeing with what Kucinich is proposing. He also provides all of his speech transcripts online.

Kucinich has a 12-point plan to get out of Iraq. He's strongly for universal health care. He may be most known for championing a "Department of Peace" cabinet department. And that's just scratching the surface -- he's got ideas on issues as varied as the Drug War, genetically engineered food, and DC statehood.

If he were the frontrunner, or even given half a chance, a lot of people would be astounded at how many good ideas he has. But of course, the media is writing him off as unelectable. The media ignored him when he ran in '04, so he didn't make much of a splash. The media will ignore him again this time around, which is a shame.

2. Dennis....
....will have to accept the fact that he and his positions will be ignored, he's too revolutionary, too fair, too average-American....

....unless he brings some rotten eggs to a Clinton or Obama press conference and tosses them at the ABC camera crew, he'll probably remain invisable....

....I might have to reconsider supporting old Dennis....if an Aging White Woman and a Young African American Male have a real shot at the nomination, why not a Short Ugly White-guy?

4. I wouldn't say Dennis is ugly
He's good looking enough to be married three times, but he's no Jack Kennedy though.

3. Unfortunately, the media does it's best to choose
the candidates along with big money and party bigwigs. Not the best way for the American people to choose in my estimation. But you know, I'm going to vote my conscience. I tire of beng told who to vote for or who to campaign for, especially if the one they say to vote for has too many warts as far as I'm concerned.
