Politico says DNC sanctioned debates will not include the Fox forum with CBC.
I hope the Politico is right on this.

DNC Shuts Out Fox

Fox News may have landed a Democratic debate, but the Democratic Party is refusing to give its formal stamp of approval to the September event, which will be co-sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus.

“The DNC sanctioned debates will not include Fox," says DNC Communications Director Karen Finney in an email.

The Democratic National Committee announced today that it would sanction six debates, starting in July. In 2005, DNC Chairman Howard Dean called Fox "a propaganda outlet of the Republican Party," but has occasionally since then struck slightly more conciliatory notes.

The refusal of the party to consider sanctioning the Detroit debate, however, is a mark of an increasingly unified Democratic effort to marginalize the network.

Fingers crossed.

1. Here is the DNC announcement today.
http://www.dnc.org/a/2007/04/presidential_de.php

"The Democratic National Committee announced today that it will sanction six Democratic debates, one per month, starting in July 2007. Additional details regarding cities, dates, logistics, etc. will be released at a later date.

Governor Dean:

“Debates provide an important opportunity for voters to hear directly from our outstanding Democratic candidates about their vision for America. I'm pleased the DNC can help play a role in facilitating such an important dialogue with our candidates. Given our strong, dynamic and diverse field of Democratic candidates and the great enthusiasm voters already have expressed, we can expect a lively, thoughtful discussion of the issues.”

2. Well, I am the only happy one at DU, but Kos has a good thread going.

I think it does show the DNC was quietly listening, not responding to anyone on it.

The DNC simply did not sanction anymore debates than the 6. They did not enter the fray...but they listened.

Good for them....even if I am the only one pleased.

3. Why do you say you're the only one pleased?
There are two other threads on this. One of which you've taken part in.

4. I did not see any others about Fox not being included.

I saw what you posted, but I did not see Fox mentioned. I have been posting a lot about Fox and the CBCi debates, and I was excited to see this.

I will go back and check your post and see if it mentioned Fox.

On edit. I do see another one now posted mentioning Fox being excluded, but I did see it at the time I posted.

I see you said you did not think they were.

Then I saw Ben's column at the Politico and posted it happily. I did not mean to step on toes. Your post and mine are different.

I have posted about this before and got little response.

This post got mostly updated by me and little from others...which led me to say most here did not care about the Fox issue.

It's ok though. I understand why posts of mine are often ignored. I really don't mind.
