Firedoglake reports that Chris Dodd is crying foul over Bush recess appointing of Sam Fox
The sole Democratic US Senate holder from the state of Connecticut, Chris Dodd, cries foul:

"It is outrageous that the President has sought to stealthily appoint Sam Fox to the position of ambassador to Belgium when the President formally requested that the Fox nomination be withdrawn from the Senate because it was facing certain defeat in the Foreign Relations Committee last week. I seriously question the legality of the President's use of the recess appointment authority in this instance. I intend to seek an opinion on the legality of this appointment from the General Accountability Office and invite other Senators to join with me in that request. This is underhanded and an abuse of Executive authority — sadly this behavior has become the hallmark of this administration."

1. We need perpetual session.
We need at least a minimum number of Senators present and available for quorum call 24 hours a day right now. The Senate can no longer recess because of this President's abuses.

8. Good Point there. I hope they catch on that this is what is needed.
Bush will do everything he can to keep undermining the Democrats in the nest year and a half. He is petty and vindictive and will keep working to take down his country to his last day in the WH. He will probably even make sure he pulls some stunt that will finish us off on the day he leaves if he doesn't get us into WWIII or cause another Terrorist Attack.

2. Thank you Chris Dodd!
Shrub just bends the constitution with this kind of shit.
Fox wasn't the only recess appointment today. Can't remember the other one. Something about a woman in the Commerce Department.

3. I thought
The Senate had to be in Recess for at least ten days for a recess appointment to work. I talked to Corker's office the other day and they said the Senate would be back to work on April 9th.

5. He is an idiot isn't he.?
He has just shown the 70 percent of Americans that do not approve of him another reason why he is the worst president in the History of America.

6. I don't mind Dodd and this is why I like primaries
as the Dems compete to get recognition for the nomination they all clamour further and further left to get primary voters attention! Except Lieberman of course...but look how well Joementum worked out for him!
